PEYTON walks into the bedroom and starts packing a bag, when AUSTIN walks in.
AUSTIN: What are you doing?
PEYTON: None of your business.
AUSTIN: It is my business, I'm your husband.
PEYTON *scoffs*: Not for much longer.
AUSTIN walks over to PEYTON.
PEYTON continues packing her bag.
AUSTIN: You will be my wife for as long as I live, do you hear me? Nothing will separate us, because I am in control – of you, of this house, of our lives together. You will listen to me.
PEYTON: No, Austin, I won't listen to you.
AUSTIN: Excuse me?
PEYTON: I said no! You need to back off, Austin. I'm sick of this. For four years I've put up with your shit. Four years and every night I thought 'It'll be better in the morning'. I've realised now that nothing will ever change, and I can't live like this anymore.
When my mum died, I promised her that I would never marry a man like my father. My dad was the reason she died, Austin. He abused her for so many years to the point where she couldn't deal with it anymore and she- (PEYTON stops) she- (sobs) you know what she did. My father was an awful man and no one deserves to be treated the way my mother was.
(During all of this, AUSTIN is staring at PEYTON and waiting for her to finish)
PEYTON: Are you even listening to me? Why do I bother trying. I'm done, Austin.
AUSTIN: Wow, Pey. I really thought you would've learnt by now. You, Peyton, are worthless and deserve to be treated how I treat you! You are nothing. (yells) Nothing!
AUSTIN goes to punch PEYTON but she kicks him.
PEYTON: I said I'm done! You can't do this to me anymore!
PEYTON gets up from packing her bag and tries to run away, but AUSTIN grabs her ankle.
AUSTIN: You aren't going anywhere!
PEYTON *screams*: No! Let me go!
(unknown yelling and struggling)
PEYTON kicks AUSTIN again and manages to escape.
AUSTIN: I'll kill you!
AUSTIN runs after PEYTON.
