Alone and Forgotten

The Attack

   Today is a very special day in my village, it's called the day of many. There's a werewolf pack outside our village, and the agreement is that we don't leave the village or go outside our homes during a full moon, and they don't kill us. A treaty of sorts.
  On the day of many we had grand festivities, music playing, children laughing, people singing, dancing. The first villager died in the middle of the village, an elder was found lying on the ground with his throat slashed. Almost in unison the whole village looked up into the sky, and sure enough it was a full moon.
   The leader of the white oak pack walked into the village square, holding the youngest child and said, in a grumbling tone " YOU HAVE BROKEN THE TREATY AND FOR THAT YOU'LL ALL PAY!" and at that he slashed the child's throat. I heard a choked breath and then, everything fell silent.
    My brother Klause grabbed my arm and dragged me inside our hut, where my family lived. I looked outside watching in horror as my entire village was being torn to shreds. Starting with the youngest child and ending with the father, in each family. This went on for hours, but then the Alpha grabbed a girl that looked familiar. My eyes widened as I realized it was my best friend, Greta.
   Without thinking, I ran to the door ignoring the screams and demands of my family. My mother and father shouting, nothing mattered at that moment. I ran up to the wolf and started beating on his back with all my might until he let go of her " Thanks" she said weakly and grabbed my arm. All of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my stomach, and looked at Greta and told her, " Go with my family, they'll keep you safe!" Those were the last things I said to her before I watched her run to my home. I got up, and taunted Alpha James. " I challenge you to a duel!" I shouted. He looked at me like I was insane and said "you're either really stupid or really brave" " Who knows? maybe both" I laughed, non the less he agreed to the duel and with that he called off his attack. " I'm looking forward killing you Boy" he snarled, and transformed into his huge wolf and ran into the forest. I heard cheers coming from behind me, the leader of the village walked up to me and said "This boy scared off an entire werewolf pack, how?" " I looked around at all of the faces of proud neighbors and friends. I saw my family they all looked relieved and my brothers Finn, Elijah, Kol, and Klause looked proud. "I challenged him to a duel. If I win he will never bother the village again and move his pack to a new territory, " And if he wins, the alpha I mean. What did he want?" Elder Blake asked in a worried tone."He said if he wins... We will be the ones to leave"
