Chapter 3
I wake up the next morning with a wicked hangover. I groan as I gingerly open my eyes. I am assaulted by sunlight, but my eyes adjust quickly. I panic for a second, not realizing where I am. I look around and the memories of last night flood my mind. Kylie isn't in bed beside me, so I roll out of her bed. I slip my boxers back on before leaving the room.
When I step out of Kylie's room, the smell of bacon hits me. I follow my nose until I find Kylie in the kitchen, in front of the stove, in only her underwear and my t-shirt. I smile and walk up behind her. I hesitantly wrap my arms around her waist and rest my head on her shoulder. "Whatcha doing?" I ask.
She turns her head to look at me and smiles. "Making bacon and eggs and toast!"
"Sounds delicious! Do I get some?"
She giggles. "I don't know. Are you staying around?"
"If you are willing to feed me bacon, I will," I tell her.
She turns towards me and smiles. "Alright. Good morning."
She stands up on her tippy toes and presses her lips softly to mine. I smile against her lips. I pull her close to me and kiss her back. I pull away and smirk. "Good morning, indeed."
She giggles and turns back to her stove. 10 minutes later, we are sitting on her living room couch, plates piled high with bacon, eggs and toast. "Damn you're a good cook, Ky," I tell her.
She smiles. "Why thank you, Lex!"
The talking stops, slowly. Soon, the room is quiet because we are too busy filling our faces. All of a sudden, 'A Love Like War' by All Time Low, my band, starts blasting. Kylie scrambles over to her cellphone.
"Yeah?" She says when she answers the call.
"Whatever... K bye."
She throws her phone on the couch and sits back down. I stare at her. "What?" She asks.
"All Time Low?" I ask.
She nods. "Yeah. My favourite band."
"Umm..."
She chuckles. "Yes, Alex, I know who you are."
I sigh.
"What's wrong?" She asks.
"That's the only reason this happened, isn't it?" I ask sadly.
She shakes her head. "When Jack came over to me in the bar last night, I thought to myself 'that guy looks like Jack Barakat.' Then, I thought 'no, it can't be.' When you came up, I thought that maybe it really was Jack and that you were Alex Gaskarth, but then I thought that it couldn't really be you. What happened last night had nothing to do with you being who you are. I only realized that you really are who you are when I woke up this morning. Needless to say, I am pretty proud of myself."
I chuckle. "What?"
"I seduced and brought home the Alexander William Gaskarth. I have never been more proud of myself," she says.
We hang out for most of the day, just relaxing and listening to music. I find out that Kylie has good taste in music as well as a wicked voice.
"So... Since you know what I do in life, mind telling me what you do?" I ask.
She shrugs. "Mainly, I'm an author. I do a little acting, modeling and singing on the side."
"What do you write?"
"Fiction mostly. More specifically, fantasy. I love creating alternate worlds that I can slip into. Creating fictional scenes and characters distract me from the horrors of the real world. It's kind of silly, I know."
