*Annette's pov*

"Annette, my darling... Please understand... It was for your own good! I was getting you out of that horrid place! It was more than just a business deal! You're my mate... you have to love me!" His words came out in a harsh tone through the bathroom door. Why won't he just leave?! I growled to myself softly before abandoning my clothes and unlocking the door and opening it. He looked at me with fiery red eyes and anger shone through them easily. How could he do this to us?! My fox growled in disgust. I let her out and shifted into a sleek young white and red fox and, ignoring his angry screams, darted out the bathroom door, running downstairs and out the front entrance of the pack house, taking off towards the trees, wind flowing through my fur as I ran and tears stained the red markings on my face. I ran without a care in the world and stopped only when I reached a small stream, the edge of the property, and sat down by it, I wrapped my tail around myself as I watched the water swirl and crash on the bank, I let the tears flow freely now as I heard the crunching of leaves behind me.

"Go away Damon! I don't want you here! I don't want you at all! I reject you! You're not my mate!" My words fell on deaf ears as I saw the angry alpha marching towards me with his wolfs eyes shining deep blood red, he raised his open hand at me before I heard the shrill cry of a pup. Rose. I mind linked her quickly. Rose you need to leave now, don't get in the middle of this.

No Luna, I refuse to leave you here to be beaten by this excuse of an alpha, hell, excuse of a man. She finally came into view with Scarlets purple irises shining in place of hers.

"I demand you let her go, Alpha Damon." Scarlet snarled through Rose. The alpha laughed, he laughed, and dropped his hand. With a small gesture he shooed away the pup.

"Run along Rose, this isn't your business, pup." He spat the last word, in an obvious attempt to offend her and she growled low at her alpha. She then looked to me and nodded towards the pack house.

"Go home Luna, get cleaned up, go to my room and stay there with the door locked, I'll be there soon." she shot a glare at her alpha and added to her statement, "not like the alpha knows where my room is anyway, he doesnt pay that much attention to a pup such as myself."

*Damon's pov*

She glanced back at me and crossed her arms over her chest as she watched my mate take off back to the pack house. "There are rogues at the northern border Alpha... Just thought you would be interested to know. Knoll has already told the other pack members; although it seems you're too busy terrorizing your 'mate' to be too worried about the safety of your pack."

"Now you listen here little girl and you listen well." I growled at the girl standing before me, she was pretty but not beautiful, not like my Anna. "She is mine. What I do with her is none of your business. Got that?" She stayed silent which only angered me more and raised my hand to slap her before I heard the soft growl of her brother.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. You're old, you're power is diminishing, I could easily kill you and have the power as alpha by default. 'He who kills the alpha, becomes the alpha.' Isn't that how the saying goes?" He smirked and looked me up and down, seemingly sizing me up and I slowly let my hand drop back to my side.

"Fine. Where are these rogues you saw?" I growled

"Northern border. Rose you got take care of Luna Anna, I'll take this fleabag to try to redeem himself." I glared at the boy as he insulted me but said nothing to him, only letting out a soft growl as I let him lead me to the rogues he'd seen.
