"Mrs Sanchez, unfortunately, your daughter have Atrial Fibrillation. This is a condition that makes the heart beat irregularly unlike the normal heartbeat. So, I hope you can convince her to  drink these medicines that I will give you—daily."

Those were the exact words my doctor, Doctor Phil, and no, this is not a T.V show, told my mom, while writing the list of the medicines that i'll be needing, that only he and pharmacists can understand. It's like a talent of them

Those exact words, those damn exact words had given me chains instead of freedom.

A few minutes later, we found ourselves in our car— not one word was heard. Then my mom placed her hand on the top of mine. But what shocked me the most is when I turned to her and see the tears dropping in her slightly-wrinkled-under eye.

"Coco, you, your brother Evan, and your sister Sydney are our treasures. And seing you faint suddenly made my heart drop,"

She hold on my hand tightly,

"And hearing the bad news from the doctor kanina, it gave me mixed emotions. Fear, nervousness, worry, at kung ano pa; but one things sure, all of those emotions are negative. I hope you take care of yourself, sweetie."

"I'm sorry to stress you mom, I didn't wish to have this sickness either."

"I know, but I do hope you take care of yourself from now on."

Nginitian n'ya ako ng may halong lungkot, at nag drive na pauwi.

///// 11 pm

————————

"What brings you here?"

Ha? teka. Asa'n ako?

"Hey, I'm talking to you, what brings you here, odd lady?"

"Odd?"

"Yes, you dress very odd, no offense though."

H O L Y.

It is a warm day, sunset na.

"Okay, lady, I'm now starting to think that you're deaf."

Ubusan english tayo dito.

"Oh, n-no, I-I'm not!"

"Finally! I'm Elvis by the way, Elvis Wolfhard."

"And you?"

"I am Coco Reyes."

Nginitian ko s'ya at nakipag-shake hands.

"Coco Reyes? Your dress is odd and so is your name, I think I'm gonna start to call you Odd."

Bigla nalang s'yang tumawa, aba baliw to ah.
Pero the way na ngumiti sya, bes nakakahimatay!

"If you call me that, I'll start punching you."

He laughed again.

"But really, what's with the outfit?"

"Oh, this? I'm just experimenting."

"See? even your experiments are odd. You're a one heck odd lady, Coco."

He smirked.

I died.

Charot.

"Well, I like how you find me odd, Mr. Elvis, I will always take that as a compliment."

"But you don't look like you're raised here, don't you? I mean, you look asian. Are you half, possibly?"

"I'm glad you asked, well, I am an asian by blood and by heart, my parents are both asian."

"So, uhm, what are you doing in this neighborhood?"

"I guess I don't have to tell so much details to someone I just met, Mr. Elvis"

I smiled, he replied with a smile too. Bigla n'yang tinignan ang relo nya.

"Oh shoot, I have to go."

"Oh, okay."

"Bummer, I still want to talk, but my mom will kill me. It's past 6, I think you should go home too, Coco."

Nag-aalala yung mukha n'ya.

"It is not safe for a girl like you to be alone in the dark, by the way, where do you live?"

Hala.

"I-I"

"You're stuttering again, lady. "

"I'm sorry, but I don't know."

"You, you don't know? You don't know where you live?"

Tinanong nya ko ng may halong pagtawa.

"Now aren't you odd and all, but anyway, I hope to meet you here tomorrow night, if it's that okay to you?"

"I'll try."

"Okay then, 8 pm it is!"

Ngumiti lang ako.

"I really want to know more about you, I really hope to see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, me too. But I am not sure about that."

"Not sure? why not!?"

"I'm kinda lost."

"You're such a joker, anyway, I really have to go, see you!"
