Shawns POV
It's Monday which means its back to reality and school. If I'm being completely honest I really like school. I know WEIRD what 16 year old actually enjoys school. Well I don't actually hate my classes I obviously have the boring normal stuff like Math and English but then I have music, songwriting, and drama. I've always loved singing, it really is an outlet for me and it always helps me get through the day.
As I'm heading downstairs I give my mom a hug and grab a waffle.
"Hey hun sit down you have to eat because ---," I cut her off.
"Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day.. yes I know mom. You don't have to tell me that every day," I say laughing.
"Well, your mothers right! Are you gonna be back late today?" dad asks.
I nod. "Yeah I'm gonna stay after school I have to rehearse for the play," I say. He nods and I hurry to my car before I'm actually late. Well, it's my dad's car but since he has two it's basically mine he just doesn't want to make it official.
I put on my usual Spotify playlist and turn the volume up a little too high. I'm currently jamming out to Charlie Puth's new album it just dropped yesterday and I'm so pumped.
" Hands on your body like its there's no one at the party just me and you. Ohh these empty cups," I sing. I replay this song about two more times until I get to school.
I arrive at school and realize I've arrived late because I stopped for iced coffee oh well I mean its just homeroom right. As I'm walking to my homeroom class Alice stops me and starts a conversation.
"Heyyy Shawn it's nice to see you late as always. Maybe next time bring me an iced coffee," Alice says and I start laughing.
"Whoops well maybe I'll remember next time haha," I say and she gives me a weird smile.
"Wellll I have a pretty darn amazing," She says exaggerating the word well.
"And what would this amazing idea consist of," I say making her giggle.
"There's this new coffee shop that opened up in Downtown I was thinking we could go. I mean you like coffee and well I like coffee perfect right," she says.
Was she asking me out??
"Um," I say not really knowing what to say.
"Not like a date or anything," she says and I weirdly feel relieved and when I'm about to say something she cuts me off and walks closer to me.
" I mean unless you want it to be a date?" she says lifting one eyebrow up.
Suddenly I got really nervous.
This was weird, I never get nervous... I mean she's a cute girl why do I feel like I'm cheating on someone.
Then I realize I haven't spoken. "No yeah I mean well yes as friends we can go, I said laughing nervously.
She shoots me a friendly smile. " Shawn why are you acting so weird?" she says and then scrunches her face as if she had just discovered how to solve an unsolvable math problem.
" Wait oh my god are you seeing someone right now. Wow, I'm so embarrassed," She shouts.
" Jules," I say and then regret saying her name.
Why did I just say her name she's not even my girlfriend.
"Jules you're dating Jules?" she asks.
