Chapter 2: formed

"Okay. Sorry Mark" she apologized.
"It's alright" he was too modest sometimes. I hugged him and gave him a kiss before I strode away with Judith. Judith had white hair, signifying wind. She was a tornado wind kinda girl. Others were soft breezes but she could lift the roof off of a house without even flinching.
"Are you nervous?" She turned to me.
"For what?" I frowned.
"You do know why we're having this meeting, right?" She seemed shocked that I didn't know.
"No? Not really?" I ducked beneath a tree branch that came over the sidewalk.
"The uprising. Y'know the huge ship that is supposedly on its way here right now" she seemed unsurprised.
"Oh, that. But why do they want us?"
"Cause of our powers. There is going to be a few of us here"
"What do they want us to do?"
"Probably defend the island. Couldn't say exactly but that's probably it" she shrugged. I didn't want to use my powers. I couldn't do it without Mark.
Judith brought me into a room filled with a few of us. Marzia was there. Some I didn't know, but I knew their powers. In all there was, nature, tsunami, tornado, levitation, and ice. A nasty mix of people. Marzia came up to me.
"Jack, I fear they are right. There is a boat full of people coming here. I don't know if it's to destroy us or to find peace" she was in a panic.
"I'm sure it's going to be fine, we'll be able to do it" I was cut off by a door opening. The leader of our island came. We all bowed down in respect.
"Stand," he demanded. We all did as he said, " Anyway, as many of you know, we have an enemy boat coming towards this island right now. I have chosen all of you wisely based on your power and ability" I felt like shrinking back into a corner cause I knew I wasn't at full power. I couldn't access all of my abilities. "What we'll need you to do, is simply combine into one form and protect this island. Then you may go on to your normal lives without another care in the world, got it?" He seemed bored. We all looked at each other. Something this big has never been done before, so was it possible? These forms needed complete trust within all of its counterparts. Not even to mention, I wouldn't be of much help without Mark.
"I have an objection" Marzia raised her hand. She must have saw my concerned face.
"What?" Our leader groaned.
"Jack here needs Mark to perform effectively, so I believe if we are to do this, he should be added to fully extend our power. As well as I believe he may be able to help Aukai." She pointed to the boy I knew could make tsunami's.
"Alright," he then disappeared.
"Should we try this?" Aukai asked.
"I recommend taking this outside in case something disastrous may happen" Marzia suggested. We all agreed to it. We went to a huge lawn. We put ourselves into a position where we all leaned our weight on each other.
"Three...two....one...." Judith spoke. With that, I let myself sink into the form that was being created in the centre of us. I felt the presence of the others, but at the same time didn't feel like me. Our eyes opened. When we saw what was around us, a rush of joy filled us. The trees were smaller than us. We had four arms and five eyes.
"Wow.." we huffed. Our voice, even though was meant to be used quietly; boomed. It echoed through the island. To think that our forms needed to grow this large to contain all of our powers was phenomenal. Usually combining this many people into a form was considered illegal, and now I can see why. The breeze blew through our hair.
"Hey!" We heard shouting below us. Beneath us was Leader and Mark. He looked to be in awe.
"Mark!" I spoke with excitement. Still not being used to the power, our voice was like an alarm blaring through the island. Mark clasped his hands onto his ears. I let go of the reins, embarrassed.
"I believe all of you should separate to allow Mark to join" Leader shouted. We nodded, letting go of the rather large form we held. However, it didn't go as expected. Our powers clashed, releasing a mushroom cloud of magic. We were all shot backwards. I went hurdling towards the trees. I gasped. If I had all my powers I could just sprout vines to catch me, but I couldn't now. I accepted the fact that the trees were approaching me at an alarming rate. I screeched, closing my eyes. But I never felt an impact. When I opened my eyes I was in a bubble of water with just my head out. I was inches from a branch. The water began going back to its source, carrying me along with it.
I came through a thicket of trees to see Mark with many branches of water sprouting from him. Each one held one of us that had been shot away from the explosion. Except Marzia, who was levitating beside him, in a state of shock.
Mark set us all down. He collapsed to his knees, breathing heavy. I walked with my wobbly knees towards Mark, then putting my arms around him.
"Thank you" I huffed.
"Yeah, thank you, Mark" Judith and Aukai said in unison.
After we brushed that off we decided to eat. I learned that the other female in our group was named Isole. It was a beautiful name. So it was, Mark, Marzia, Judith, Aukai, Isole, another girl I hadn't got the name of, and myself that would be making this all powerful creature. Except I didn't want to, but we had to because Leader instructed it to be. He gave us clear instructions to never come apart once we went together. He feared the explosion may kill people.
We all sat in silence in a small restaurant. I leaned on Mark. That meant I couldn't look at Mark. I couldn't kiss him. There would be no privacy. It would be the six of us stuck in one body. I just wanted to form with him one last time before everything happened. I shut my eyes, focusing on forming into Mark. When I opened my eyes again, we were together. Mark sighed. The others looked at us in shock before they shrugged it off.
The group ate our food in silence as well before a nature walked up to us. Natures were always the ones in charge of restaurants.
"I have a message from Leader. He wants you all by the shore immediately" the waiter announced.  Marzia nodded. She had already taken charge as the leader of this group. We left.
