As the day came to a close and we returned to our cabin, Mark and I fed the children one last time. Today it was pouring rain out. I worked in the rain to build a shelter between the trees. It was large, and far enough from the house that I felt Mark and I were finally going to have privacy. I wove together palm tree leaves, vines, and whatever else I could think of to make the tightest and most waterproof shelter. Inside I made beds out of soft grass. I made a table, filling it with fruits and vegetables. I put the water pitcher inside before I hurried all the children inside. They all thanked me on the way in. I waved them a good night before I sealed it shut.
I returned to the cabin soaking wet. Water was still running down the sides of my body as I walked through the house. I left a trail behind me. I stopped at the bottom of the stairs where I spotted a bunch of rose petals. I knew Mark had left me about half hour ago, but I didn't think it would be to make a trail of rose petals. I began walking up the stairs. My soaking wet jeans made it difficult to lift my legs up. I made sure to not step on the petals as I went up. A cheeky smile spread on my face even though I told myself I wouldn't.
As I popped my head above the stairs, I followed the petals with my eyes, finding Mark on the bed. A huge smirk was spread on his face.
"You bastard, Mark Fischbach," I chuckled. He was on the bed only in his boxers.
"I am told to be one" he laughed. I walked up to the bed to join him. I was still leaving water everywhere.
"I'm going to get the bed wet" I laughed as I looked down at my soaking clothes. They stuck to my body.
"Doesn't bother me" Mark shrugged. I decided to just pull off my clothes right there. I yanked off my shirt, throwing it to the side, then kicking off my jeans for them to join. I crawled into the bed, where Mark immediately started kissing me. I felt his hand go down from my chest to my stomach.
I would go into detail, but let's leave the best parts for us.

In the morning, I woke up in Mark's arms. I blinked a few times in the morning sunlight, taking in the foggy view the window gave me. The wisps of fog drifted out of the forest. I looked around our room, which was covered in various kinds of plants. All thanks to my out of control powers last night. Somehow, the mess was worth it. I smiled to myself, thinking of how great last night actually was. And how I now knew why sex was banned on the island. Our powers weren't controllable.
From behind me, Mark took a huge breath in. I heard him grunt before I turned my head so I could see him.
"Morning" he smiled.
"Morning" I responded, stretching out my arms as I spoke "you know, we should probably go check on those children" I yawned. I pulled Mark's arm off of my body, before I flung the blankets off of myself. I realized I still wasn't wearing any boxers and I could smell coffee from downstairs. Before I could scar any child for life, I quietly speed walked to the closet where I got dressed. When I popped out of the closet, there already was one of the kids with coffee. It was Gail's older sister who was gently putting down the cups while talking to Mark. He was sitting up in bed with the blankets securely wrapped around his waist.
"Jack, we've been told that you two are wanted at the main base immediately," Gail's sister turned to me.
"Yeah, of course" I shrugged. I watched as she walked down the stairs. Mark and I made our way out after he had gotten dressed. We ate on the way there.

A pile of dusty books were set down in front of us. I looked up with a look of disgust. I was not reading all of these books.
"Start reading. Each pile gives you instructions on your powers. I do believe they will be of great use" Fire Chief nodded. She left us in the room. It was horribly plain. A table, two chairs, and a light.
"I'm not reading all of these" I grumbled under my breath. Mark looked over at me. I could agree. These books look ancient. He stood to reach the top of his pile. He picked one off and opened it.
"Step by step guide for efficiently using water in battle," Mark read, "they seriously couldn't have thought of a better title? I mean, if you want to bore the curious.." he opened the book. The spine made a crackling sound, signifying its centuries unmoved pages. The hard cover popped right off the pages. The hundreds of pages flopped to the ground with a large bang. Mark leaned down to look at one. "They look like they sat out in the sun for a century. The ink is so faded I can't even read it" Mark shook his head. I grabbed the one from the top of my pile. Sure enough, same thing.
"I mean, that strategy book of yours would do, and I could use a list of deadly plants. But it doesn't look like our answers are here" I began thinking. These books look like they've sat in a desert their entire lives. So maybe all of the Chief's had their own books and these belonged to the Fire Chief. Chiefs lived all around the world, and my house was either in Brazil, or on that island. I thought of what hints could lead me to think the books were on the island.
"That's it" I mumbled.
"What?" Mark stopped cleaning the pages.
"Aukai said he's read books from Leader's mansion. And that mansion was supposedly belonging to the Nature faction, so the books must be there. If we need anything, I bet it's there" I explained.
"How are we supposed to get there? That island is going to be on lock down. I bet that mansion is even more so" Mark presented his point.
"Yes, but you see, we have the best team, here, with us. Marzia has snuck in and out of that island for years, and Aukai snuck into the mansion to read those books. I bet they could help!"
"Okay, okay, we'll go ask, just keep your voice down. This has to be super secretive" Mark shushed me. I nodded.
