Taeyeon's POV

My mom told me to watch out for vampires and some other creatures in Seoul. "Don't worry, mom. I'll be fine" I smiled and looking up at her, she gave her proud smile.

She kissed me on the forehead and she took out something from her pocket. It was a necklace, with a silver chain and a crystal blue gem in the middle. She wore it on my neck and I could see the shining gem on my neck.

"What is this for?" I asked "That's going to protect you. It'll avoid any vampire" she smiled "Oh, mom. Don't you trust me? I can handle myself, I swear" I raised my right hand. She gave me another hug and I hugged her back.

"Visit me, okay?" She reminded and I nodded "Come on now, Taeyeon!" Dad shouted from the car "I gotta go, mom" I said and gave her a peck on the cheek.

I sat on the passenger's seat. Leaving my hometown, Incheon just to attend college in Seoul. This place held a lot of memories since I was a kid. The thing I won't forget is that when I became friends with a werewolf. Two years after that, he was gone. He didn't show up again.

We were great friends. Our parents agreed since he was harmless. I wonder what he's doing right now. I wish I can meet him again.

I took out my phone and my headset. I set my favourite music and closed my eyes.

"Taeyeon, wake up. We're here" Dad shook me and I opened my eyes, my vision was a bit blurry. The sun's setting which means it's almost evening. I got out from the car and looked at the house.

It's nice, I mean, big enough for two people to live in.

Dad unlocked the door and the place was empty. The house is nice, there's a small staircase with a cupboard beneath it.

The kitchen and the dining area is in one room. The living room's kinda big and I like it. I went upstairs. There's only two rooms.

Dad guided me to my room. I opened the door and everything's nice here. I love the way how dad used my favourite colour for my room wallpaper.

Just a simple pastel purple everywhere and there's already a bed. A comfy bed, to be exact. A smile formed my lips as I went inside "Taeyeon," Dad called and I turned around "Here's your key to the house and your room" he threw me the keys and I looked at the keychain. It's a cute small cat figure.

I dropped my small bag in the bed and sat at the edge of it. The bedsheet colours are a bit dolly. I mean, It's pastel pink with some ruffles on the end. The bed's headboard is white which makes me feel like I'm living in a dollhouse.

I took my phone. Ugh, It's dead.

I took out my charger and charged my phone. I sighed and lied myself in bed. It's really soft and my sleep is going to be comfortable.

"Taeyeon-ah," Dad called, bringing three piles of heavy boxes in my room "Help me carry the boxes" he asked politely. I nodded and helped him with the furnitures.

After moving in some furnitures, we were finally finished. My stomach started to growl and I was starving as hell. "Let's go and buy food, Tae" my dad said. I got up from my seat and grabbed my wallet from my small bag.

There were a lot of street foods passing by and there are also a lot of fast food chains just a few blocks away from our house. We entered a food chain and started to take our seats.

We ordered our food and I ate my kimchi hungrily. I decided to order ramyun too. After eating, I was already full and slouched my self on the chair.

"Tomorrow, you're going to school, okay?" Dad informed "Already?" I asked lazily "Of course. But beware, the school consists of vampires and werewolves" Dad warned "Yeah, yeah whatever" I rolled my eyes and we went back home.

Dad gave me my new notebooks and books which are stacked. He also gave me a set of pens and colouring materials. He gave me a bag and I looked at it. I liked the colour, though. It's mint green with a shade of chocolate brown on the bottom.

I started to fix my things for school and I looked at my necklace. Should I wear it or not? Although, I believe that vampires and werewolves here in this school are harmless. I shook my head.

Taeyeon, they're different. You're a human and they're not.

After fixing my stuff, I sat in my new comfy bed. I tied my hair in a messy ponytail and lied myself down. I pulled my blanket in and set my alarm.

Dad said that school starts in 8 o' clock. I set my alarm to 7 o' clock and looked at my phone. It's a picture of me, my mom and my dad, having fun together. I smiled "I love you, mom" I muttered and put my phone down.

A new life to start tomorrow. I'm already in college, I can't believe it.

I turned off my lamp and shut my eyes closed. It's time to be friends with some creatures out there, again.

I woke up from the sudden noise. I heard a girl screaming. I looked outside my window, trying to find where the screams are coming from. I looked below me and I gasped.

I saw a vampire, I reckon.

Sucking the girl's blood. I looked at the time, 2:34am.

Flashback

Author's POV

"Mom, there's a girl screaming. I can't sleep" A five-year-old Taeyeon barged in her parents room, rubbing her eyes with a medium-sized teddy bear in her hands. Her mom looked at the time, 2:30am.

"Come here, Taeyeon-ah" her mom smiled. Taeyeon climbed in her parent's bed and looked at her precious mom. "Taeyeon, every 2:30 in the morning, It's legal for vampires to suck human blood." Her mom explained.

Little Taeyeon gasped and covered her mouth "Vampires are bad, mommy!" Taeyeon exclaimed "No, no" her mom waved her index finger "Vampires are friendly, to be honest. It's just that, they drink human blood because It's their tradition to do so" her mom explained.

"Sometimes, they don't kill the person. They somewhat transfer their own vampire blood so that the person will be one of them and they will be called as a half-blood. But If vampires transfer their vampire blood and their own venom in their fangs, they will be called as full-blood" her mom explained.

Taeyeon nodded and looked at her shoulder. The sun mark. It was there since she was born, hence, It's permanent, since she is something that she doesn't know.

"What if werewolves got bitten by a vampire?" Taeyeon asked curiously. Her mom sighed and tucked her hair on her ear. "Oh dear. Werewolves will be tortured with pain. If the vampire blood and the werewolves blood mix together, It will lead into pain. It will take a week for that to come off. Some werewolves survive being a vampire, some don't. They die in pain, Taeyeon. Somehow, they will be unconscious for a week" her mom explained again.

She lied herself on the bed and shut her eyes closed. Her mom smiled and hugged her small body.

Flashback End

This is why I heard a girl screaming. It's the time where vampires are legal to suck human blood. I touched my sun mark on my shoulder.

What is this mark even represent?

I looked at the window again, fearlessly. I gasped when the girl was bleeding. The vampire looked up at my direction and I quickly took off my gaze.

My heart was pumping really hard. I peeked in again and the vampire was still eyeing on my direction. I could see the crimson red shining in the vampire's eyes.

I lied myself on the bed and tried to forget what I saw.

A vampire just drank a human's blood right in front of my eyes.
