Vrushan SS: Rectifying mistakes

The Phone Call

Shantanu's POV:
Its been 4 days since the hospital scene...
Me and her have been accustomed to not seeing eachother for a long time in between our meets. But we'd message eachother atleast a few times a week for the minimum. She'd send a funny picture or video she saw, or message me telling me something totally random. And when something huge happens, she'd call me and talk endlessly telling me all the details and me as always guiding her telling her what to do. I never used to give these little moments any importance, it was something that just fit in with my daily life like a chore. But now that its been nearly a week since her last message, its made me realise how much I miss it. I miss her..

I got her number back from Palki maam making a pathetic excuse saying it got deleted when I reset my phone. I've been staring at it for the past few days, but I cant muster the courage to call her. What will I say, will she even answer. All these different scenarios running in my mind. But at the same time my thoughts go back to why I'm so bothered by this. The only legitimate answer, the only thing that makes sense in my mind is that I've known her way too long to lose her. We have so many beautiful memories from onscreen scenes to the offscreen craziness. Vrushika is my peace, her crazy antics make me laugh and the glitter in her eyes lights up my dull day. Everyone thinks shes immature, not ready to face the world. Even I do too, yet theres something about her, a force too strong to describe.. pulling you towards her.

At that moment my phone rang, I quickly picked it up only to see Maccy ringing.
Maccy: Hey dude, how u feeling now?
Me: Much better bro thanks
Maccy: thats good.. actually Shantanu if you're feeling better should i tell the boys for dance rehearsals today.
Me: Yeh sure, lets do it
Maccy: okay cool, its 12pm so lets meet for 2
Me: yeh done, see you then
I'll ring her after rehearsals I told myself as I got ready to go.

Vrushikas POV:
Its been 4 days since I've seen him. I wonder how he is, if hes okay now. Everytime I picked up my phone to ring him and ask him, his words rang in my ears. Telling me he doesnt want anything to do with me. I know hes sorry but I cant forget it.
I still needed to know how he was. But how?
Let me ring Maccy! He'll know how he is, I'll ask him! I checked the time, it was 3pm. Maccy should be free, they havnt even had dance rehearsals since Shantanu falling ill. I picked up my phone and rang him.

Shantanu's POV:
We rehearsed for an hour and now we're taking a break. I told them I'm fine and we can carry on but they insisted we rest. We were all sitting on our phones when Maccys phone rang.
Me: who's ringing?
Maccy: Vrushika
My heart stopped, I can hear her voice now.
Me: put it on speaker
Maccy: Hi Vrushika whats up!!
Her: Hey Maccy, Im good what about you?
Maccy: Im good too, is  everything okay?
Her: yehh everythings fine, I was just thinking of you guys so thought to rang( she went silent for a minute then continued) what are u doing?
Maccy: I'm at dance rehearsals with the boys.
Her: Oh, how is everyone?
Maccy: Yeh, we're all good. Jacks eating chocolate. Rohans jumping around, Nimit is on the phone.
Her: thats good... (she went silent again)
I signalled maccy to ask her why she actually called.
Maccy: Vrushika I know you didnt call to ask what we are doing? Whats the real reason?
Her: umm actually, Shantanu...
My heart flipped, she called to ask about me. I started grinning. Maccy looked up at me and gave me a confused look seeing me grinning to myself. I signalled him to continue.
Maccy: what about Shantanu?
Her: I mean, Shantanu is he not there too?
I shook my head telling him to tell her I'm not here.
Maccy: No, he's not here. Why?
Her: Is he still not feeling well? What a stupid question, he must be still ill thats why hes not here. He doesnt look after himself.
She kept going on and on, saying how careless I am. But instead of being offended, I couldnt stop grinning. She cared so much it was evident in her voice. Oh, My Vrushika. Wait what. My? No no, what am I thinking. I shook my head to remove that thought.
Maccy: Vrushika Vrushika, calm down. He's fine. And why didnt u ring him to ask how he is. Im sure he'll be really happy to hear how concerned you are
Maccy looked up at me and winked, I glared at him.
Her: Oh what no no. I was thinking about your crew. You are "the desi hoppers", and theres so many dance competitions you have to compete in. One member being ill, is bad for the crew.
I started laughing, oh how cute she is when she realises what shes said and tries to cover it up. I was so busy laughing I didnt realise what Maccy started saying.
Maccy: By the way, Vrushika.. Shantanu is standing next to me. The phone is on speaker.
I punched Maccy in the arm, now she'll be so embaressed. I know her.
Vrushika: Oh.. I uh have to go my mums calling me
And with that she cut the call.
I chased Maccy around the hall, while he laughed. Then he suddenly stopped and looked at me.
Maccy: Wait Shantanu, why did Vrushika ring me and not you? Did you guys have a fight.
And at that moment I realised I had a lot to tell Maccy. We sat down and I told him everything that happened from Love on the Run, the interview, the phone call, her house, to the hospital. He listened quietly, watching me intently. And after I was done, he gave me the most shocked expression.
Maccy: You're in love dude.
I was taken aback. What is he saying?
Me: Maccy what are you saying? Are you even hearing yourself
Maccy: Shantanu, you love her. Do you hear yourself when you speak about her. Your face is red and its glowing just hearing her voice. Shantanu you need to stop hiding your feelings behind friendship. The way you are with her, you arent with any other girl. I know all your other friends that are girls, I've seen you with them all. You're truly you with her, freee and real. She brings out the child in you.

Small update but quicker this time😁.
