Vrushan SS: Rectifying mistakes

More Realisations

Shantanu's POV:
I drove home replaying Maccys words in my mind. How can I love Vrushika? I mean she's beautiful, sweet and caring. But its Vrushika. I've always thought of her as a friend, an innocent child. But Maccys last words struck a chord in my heart making me rethink every moment I've spent with her. " Imagine her laughing at someone elses jokes, taking his chocolate, him teasing her, guiding her, supporting her and that person not being you .. Shantanu think this through before its too late and my words turn true" he said.
Have I really been masking my feelings behind friendship. Constantly telling the media and our well wishers theres nothing between us. Making myself and her believe it, when there has always been something much more deep rooted?

Vrushika's POV:
Urghh how embaressing Vrushika. You kept going on and on like an idiot without realising what you're saying. Now Shantanu's going to know how much you care about him.
Mum: Vrushika what are you mumbling to yourself?
I jumped out of my thoughts and realised I've been speaking out loud all this time.
Me: Uh nothing nothing.
Mum: Oh and I forgot to tell you. Abhishek is back from the UK
Me: Who Abhishek?
I wasnt even listening to my mum properly, my mind was too pre-occupied by Shantanu.
Mum: Abhishek! Your childhood friend, remember you used to play with him! Our old neighbours son.
Me: Oh Abhishek! I remember now! The one that went abroad to complete his studies.
Mum: I told his mum, you'll meet him. Hes a good guy now and earns a decent amount of money.
Me: Mum what are you saying. I dont want to get married, I still have so much to do for my career.
Mum: I also am not getting you married, I want you to prosper in your career as much as you do. Its nothing formal, itll just be a little friends catch-up session thats all.
After Mums constant persistence I finally agreed to meet him tomorrow for lunch. Why shouldnt I? Shantanu doesnt even care about us anyway, he thinks we're just "friends". Maybe I'm agreeing out of anger, but this might just be for the best.

The Next Day:
Abhishek messaged me telling me to meet him in a newly opened restaurant. I looked at the address, it was near the desi hoppers dance studio. On the way to the restaurant I'll go meet him, I mean them. I'll act like I'm casually driving past and stopped to say hi. In this pretence I'll be able to see him okay too. Yes this plans perfect.

Shantanu's POV:
Now that I'm better, we've had dance rehearsals all morning. After perfecting our routine, we all decided to go out to eat lunch. Rohan insisted on trying the new restaurant that opened down the road from the studio. We were about to leave when our studio door opened.
Maccy: Vrushika! What a pleasant suprise!!
I turned around so quickly I nearly lost my balance. She was standing on the door looking etheral to say the least. There was something different about her today, her hair out falling effortlessly on her shoulders, wearing a light blue dress. I was taken out of my spell by Jack nudging me.
Jack: Shantanu, where are you lost. Vrushika is here, lets go say hi.
Me: Yeh, lets go. (I finally breathed out)
Vrushika: Actually, I was driving past so I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
She looked up at me with relieved eyes, then quickly looked away to Maccy again.
Maccy: Thats awesome! We're all going to try the new restaurant down the road, join us. Itll be so much fun.
Her mouth suddenly dropped and she started fidgeting on her feet. Maccy looked at me confused and I gave him the same look back.
Maccy: Whats wrong Vrushika? Dont you want to come?
Vrushika: Um I'm uh meeting someone there.
She's meeting someone? What?
Me: Who are you meeting? ( I blurted it out quicker than planned and everyone turned and looked at me shocked) Maccy realised my disturbance and quickly took over before I messed up the situation.
Maccy: Shantanu means, whoever youre meeting can join us too. If thats okay with you and her.
Vrushika: Its a him ( she went quite for a minute) and umm okay fine. Lets go.
My heart began racing, who is this guy that shes meeting that I dont know about. I know all her guy friends and am thankful to be friends with most of them so I know that her and them only share a friendly bond. But who is this guy that shes kept a secret and isnt saying his name.
We reached the restaurant and I saw a tall, bearded guy holding a bouquet of flowers, dressed in a collared shirt and trousers. I could tell he was built by the way his shirt clinged to his arms and chest. He turned to us and looked at her giving her a huge smile.
Him: Vrushika!!! (He walked towards her and quickly engulfed her in a hug)
Vrushika: Abhishek! (She seemed suffocated by the hug and a bit taken aback)
I coughed to help free her from it. He released her and awkwardly smiled at me.
Vrushika: This is Shantanu, Macedon, Jack, Rohan and Nimit. (She said pointing at all of us) and guys this is Abhishek, my childhood friend.
He didnt seem very friendly the way he hugged her, I thought to myself in my head.
Abhishek: Oh, I didnt know your friends are coming too. Nice to meet you all. And these flowers are for the pretty lady.
He gave her the bouquet of flowers and I could lightly see her cheeks flush a colour of pink. Urghh who is this guy and how dare he make her blush, only I'm allowed to do that. Maccy leaned closer to me and started mumbling in my ear.
Maccy: I told you not to delay it.
I looked at him and glared. He smirked back, enjoying himself seeing me like this. He moved away and faced everyone before I could say anything to him.
Maccy: Okay enough of the introductions, lets go inside and eat.
