Vrushan SS: Rectifying mistakes

New Years Eve

Hi guys, I'm so sorry for the late. But after this update there's only one more. I'm really excited for the last one!

Shantanu's POV: (28th December- Rehearsal studio)

Maccy: Bro what are you thinking?
I kept strolling left, right and centre all across the rehearsal studio trying to join all the dots together. Fit all the missing pieces in the jumbled puzzle of my life. And the biggest missing piece was love.....her.
Me: Maccy I'm going to tell her, I will confess my feelings! I love her Maccy, I cant stay away from this feeling anymore. Ive always hid behind friendship, always demeaning our bond to just be average, when it never was. It never could be.
Maccy: Thank god! Took you long enough. Your actions always spoke, indicating how much you love her. We all were just waiting for you to admit it! And finally with the help of that Abhishek it happened. Im so happy for you bro!
Me: Hey don't mention that guy, I don't like him. ( I could feel my face heating up with anger at the memory of him hugging her and giving her flowers.)
Maccy: Hahahahaha Bro, leave that poor guy alone, he didn't know that Vrushika has a Romeo that doesn't even want to admit to himself that loves her let alone go and admit it to her.
Me: Maccy shut up before I hit you.
I glared at him and he looked down trying to control himself from laughing.
Maccy: Okay okay fine, I've stopped. Anyways the more important question is when are you going to tell her?
Me:Now, I'm going now, I need to say it.
I started heading out the door as fast I could not wanting to waste even another minute when Maccy grabbed my arm back towards me, halting my speedy feet.
Maccy: Shantanu are you mad, look at yourself. You're all sweaty from rehearsals, you look a mess. You dont even know what to say and do. This is meant to be a special moment. We both know she already knows you love her and if she didn't the restaurant fiasco definetely gave it away. So do it properly dude!
I knew Maccy was right. How stupid of me, she's too special for a normal confession. I have to make it magical.
Me: You're right, I have to do something magical and special just like her.
Maccy: Thats more like it, and bro I'm always a call away if you need any help. But I'm certain you'll handle it. Just channel your inner Swayam.

I sat there brainstorming all day. She's always said she'd love to have a guy like Swayam and even after playing him for so many years I could never have the true essence he held. Palki maam kept telling me countless amount of times I'm his replica, this can't be that hard. After racking my mind for ages I finally knew when and how to do it. New Years! The best way to bring in 2018 is to have her by my side as my soulmate.
Theres 3 days left and I have to make this New Years the best and most memorable she's ever had. I'll confess to her my hearts desires and show her all the purity my love holds for her.

Vrushika's POV: (31st December 7:30pm)
My phone beeped. I checked the screen and there was a message.
Shantanu: I'm outside with the others, come down when you're ready.
Me: I'm coming, 2 minutes.
I quickly picked up my bag, ready to celebrate the coming of a new year with some of the most important people in my life. I felt this uneasiness in the pit of my stomach, like something unexpected is about to happen. But I ignored it and quickly ran out.

As i came down the building I saw him standing there, fidgeting with his feet. Then he looked up after hearing my footsteps and gave me a huge smile.
Him: Heyy
Me: Hi... Why are you waiting outside? Wheres the car?
Him: Actually there was no room, so I parked a little ahead thats why I've come to get you.
Me: Oh okay, lets go.
I started to walk off but he wasn't behind me. I turned around to see him frozen in his place.
Me: Whats wrong Shantanu, why are you not moving?
He walked up to me so we were face to face and  then he snaked his arm around my waist pulling me closer. Our face was now inches apart, and he looked deeply into my eyes.
Him: You look beautiful.
I could feel my skin flush and goosebumps rid up all over my arms. He leaned in closer and closer, I closed my eyes in anticipation of what was about to happen. I could feel something soft, lightly pecking my forehead. I couldn't help but smile.

Then suddenly he let me go and started walking towards the car. Now I was frozen, not able to move. I could still feel his presence and I was struggling to catch my breath.
He started laughing and turned around.
Him: Come on, before the others think we ran off and left them......And by the way, your blush .... It's adorable.
He laughed some more, and I felt myself blush some more as we walked towards the car.

We reached Essel World by 9:00pm, the traffic was horrifying especially with it being New Years Eve. But once we got there everything was so worth it. The ambience and vibe was so surreal. Everyone was enjoying themselves and celebrating the coming of a new year. I was so lost in the crowd, that I couldn't help myself from dancing and feeling every beat of the music. And then i felt a sudden flash of light on my face.
Me: Marwadi what are you doing? Put the phone away.
Him: I couldn't help but record you. You know you dance the best when theres no crowd and cameras, when it's just you and the music. Its so surreal and pure.
Palki maam: I totally agree with you Shantanu. If only the world could see you dance like this, they'd be mesmerised just like we are.
Me: Oh no no, stop it guys. This was nothing, I just got a bit carried away.
Palki maam: If this was nothing, I wonder what you get up to alone in your room.
Me: Haha maam, theres nothing like that.

I saw a bench and went and sat on it, I didn't want to waste all my energy before the celebrations truly started.
Palki maam: Anyways everyone come lets take some photos, Shantanu go stand next to Vrushika, lets get a picture of you two first.
He gave me a huge grin and came and stood next to me, we automatically put our arms around eachother and smiled for the camera.
Palki maam: This picture is so lovely, I adore both your smiles so much.
Him: I love this photo, Maam please take one from my phone too. I want this moment to be cherished for life.
He looked at me and tightened his grip around my waist, then back at Maam with such genuine happiness. My heart started beating fasting faster, butterflies fluttering in my stomach. The joy in his face indicated something different today, something I've never seen before. And the way his arm was around me, it felt like he was proud, honoured to be next to me. Like I was the best thing in the world.
Rohan: Okay now lets take a group pic, everyone come round.
I quickly shook such thoughts out of my mind, maybe he's just really happy because its New Years and nothing more. I can't let my heart fall in this trap only to be left dissapointed once again. But at the same time, I felt something different. Like this time it's real and true, it's not just me imagining it.
Palki maam came and stood on the other side of Shantanu and he protectively put his arm around both of us and we all posed for the photo.

The whole night was spent with us dancing and singing in our horrific voices not caring about anything other than this moment and eachothers company. And before we knew it the clock hit 11:58pm. 2 more minutes.
We all gathered around in a small circle, he stood next to me and held my hand as we all started counting down for the beginning of another beautiful year ahead. 5...4...3...2...1
As soon as the clock chimed 12, the crowd burst into shreaks of joy and laughter. Fireworks lit up the night sky as everyone started embracing people around them.
Palki maam hugged me tight, Rohan and Jack hugged eachother. While he stood there just looking up at the night sky with his eyes closed, like he was wishing for something with all his heart and soul. I tapped his shoulder lightly to break him out of his reverie, and he opened his eyes only to engulf me into a gentle and warm hug.
Him: Happy New Year Vrushika!
He breathed into my ear.
Me: Happy New Year Shantanu!
I nearly choked the words out, still under shock of our sudden contact. He laughed hearing my voice, he knew me too well.
Him: This year will be the best year yet, I promise.
