April 14th
Okay. I can honestly say I've learned some things over the past week.
• Never trust your crush's boyfriend.
• Always have a switchblade on you.
• Take some self-defense classes.
• Trust your gut instinct and tell Tori, "No! Your boyfriend is not a cool guy!"
• Don't eat licorice at a high school party, especially right before a fight.
My legs throbbed in pain and wobbled beneath me. Kimberly's house was in Queens and I managed to end up at my Dad's loft in the Bronx. How long was I running?
The midnight black sky was already turning a blackish-blue, daylight threatening to show itself. The edges of my mouth were drenched in crimson, and I felt as if I was about to hurl up my dinner.
"Bry..." I gasped, trying to remember. "...Bryan..?" I stumbled onto the apartment door, gasping for air.
"Ohh... oh sh..."
The door swung inwards, unlocked, and I stumbled gracefully into the short hallway.
"Dad..? Dad..."
I stumbled into the living room. My Dad was on the couch, phone in hand, talking to someone.
"There you are! Where the hell were you, I've been calling..." His face turned white as he saw my condition. "Norman?
"Dad... he's... he's not what he seems... he..."
I groaned, my lungs running out of breath and I fell forward, the carpet flying closer and closer. Dad's arms wrapped around me, catching my limp body before I passed out.
