Cora sat at her desk, drumming her fingers like a bored schoolgirl.
"Tori Felix is so special!" Cora mocked as she burned the photo of a young girl. "Tori is pretty! Tori is great! Tori is...!" She stared at the photo of Tori. "Not me."
Cora sighed as she crumpled the charred photo.
What was wrong with her? She never, ever pined over a guy like this! But... Norman Knight wasn't anything like other guys.
Cora sighed as she looked at the victim list. The first known victim was Mathew Everdale (Bryan's brother) and the second was the Chronicle's first kill in New York - Abigail Richards. A photo of Mathew sat on the desk, and Bryan refused to move it. Mathew looked similar to Bryan. Bryan would spend hours gazing at that photo, his eyes dark.
Cora looked down at her hands, wondering why the hell she should care about a total crybaby like Norman Knight when the computer in front of her made a noise. Cora absentmindedly looked at the screen.
User325896: What is the status of the next target?
Oblivion: Target will be at 253 Riverside Road at 3 pm. You will have a thirty-minute window. Don't waste it.
Cora grabbed her cell phone and frantically dialed Bryan's phone number.
"Hello?" Bryan answered.
"Bryan, we've got to move, now. I know where the Chronicle is going next."
