Kamui sighed as he watched his father head off to who knows where. His father had stayed for a total of two days before giving him a brisk goodbye. He didn't even so much as try to reach out to Kagura after their fight. "If she wants to be a brat, then she can. I won't try to extend an olive branch if I've done nothing wrong," were his words just before he took off.

Kagura had been staying at Sougo's, doing her best to avoid her father and Ginpachi. She'd done a damn good job of it too. If Kamui hadn't let Ginpachi in on her whereabouts, the poor man would have probably reported her as missing. He had tried contacting her several times, but Kagura refused to talk to him, because she knew that anything she said would go straight to her father. Kamui couldn't blame her at this point.

He whipped out his phone and called her.

"Hey! Is the coast clear?" She asked, her voice unusually bright for so goddamn early in the morning.

"Yeah. He's gone. Why are you so chipper?"

"Morning training." Oh right. Sougo had filled him in on her new schedule. As if her last one hadn't been crazy enough. "Anyway, we have no school today because it's a teacher's day or something like that, and Sougo and I were thinking of heading to the city. Do you and Nobume want to tag along?"

"Um...maybe...," Kamui said.

"Is everything ok?" Kagura asked, picking up on his hesitation. Kamui hesitated. But knew he couldn't keep it from her.

"Nobume and I....we're on a break, right now." Silence. Then...

"WHAT?!?!"

"Well, she's about to graduate and she wants to go to a college in America. I, however, want to stay here. In Japan. Both of us are unsure of what to do. We don't want to do a long distance relationship but we also don't want to hold each other back."

"But, you guys both fought so hard to be together. You've been going solid for six months! Why, why is this happening now?"

"It was me who suggested we take a break."

"Why?"

"Kagura, I think, I love her. Or at least, I'm starting to really be in love with her. And I don't want want to get attached only to watch her leave in a few months."

"Oh," was all she said. It was all she could say. Then she asked the one question Kamui had been trying to answer. "Why do you not want to go with her?"

"I...I don't know. Lord knows I could the job I do anywhere, you would be find without me, I could avoid our old man a lot easier and I'd be with her."

"You just listed all the reasons why you should go. Why won't you go?" The answer spilled out of of him before he could fully process it.

"I'm scared."

"Scared?"

"Kagura, we're not talking about moving a few cities away, or having our own place. We're talking about moving to another country  and living there and we've only been together for six months. Sane people would do something like this after being married for six years. I don't know if it's even something I should be considering."

"When have you ever done something that wasn't reckless? You took off when you were fourteen or so and you've made a name for yourself. You're known in some circles that you probably shouldn't be known in, you graduated super early so that you could have your own freedom from school, you live like a stray cat to be honest. You're here and there, and you're never one to stay in one place for too long. Why should this stop you? Go with her Kamui. Make your name known around America. If things crumble apart then they crumble apart. There ain't nothing you can do about it. But if you let her walk off, alone, then I can promise you that you will regret it for the rest of your life. You'll be wondering about what could have happened, what should have happened. Take some advice from your baby sister for once in your life. Go with her."
