Short story: And yes. It is what you think it is.
The first thing Merlin felt when she woke up was a headache. Which was odd. Because she didn't have that much to drink at the banquet night before. The second thing she felt was the bed below her.
Which was odd. Because it was soft like Arthur's.
That thought opened her eyes.
She could see little without moving a lot. But from what she could see, this was not Arthur's room.
She was facing away from the other side of the bed. And she knew there was someone there, she could feel the weight of them in the bed.
She slowly turned to see... SIR LODIS!
She had a one night stand with Sir Lodis?
One of the knights from one of the more wealthy villages of Camelot.
She stood to see that the sun hadn't fully risen yet. Meaning if she could get to her chambers quickly she could make it to Arthur on time.
She was about to grab her clothes when she heard Lodis move. She froze. She turned her head to see he just turned sides and was still asleep.
She let out a sigh of relief.
She hurriedly threw on her underdress and left the room.
Though as she was closing the door softly she heard the door behind her open and the person walking out freeze.
As she closed the door and turned to keep walking, Uther was frozen in his spot. Staring at her.
She looked behind him. The recently widowed Lady Mullen. Uther slept with Lady Mullen.
They both just stared at each other.
Merlin opened her mouth but closed it not knowing what to say.
"Never speak of this again." Uther said with a pointed look.
"Yes Sire." She said and the pair started to walk away in different directions.
But Merlin couldn't help but look back at him to see him doing the same.
"Lady Mullen? Really?" Merlin said, for she wasn't that pretty, borderline ugly for some.
"Sir Lodis? Really?" He shot back, because the same could be said for him.
"Good point." Then both ran.
As Merlin ran she turned a corner and froze. It was Morgana. Leaving her chambers, just like it was any other day.
"Merlin?" She said quietly, not wanting to wake anyone up.
"Morgana!" She takes a happiness. "Why are you up so early?"
"It's by that early. I woke up from a night mare and decided I was hungry. Are you alright?" Morgana asked and looked Merlin over.
She was in her underdress. No Morgana's underdress. And her hair was still somewhat in the interacted braid it had been in last night. And she still had her makeup on.
Morgana's eyes bulged. "Oh my god!" She yelled.
Merlin put her hands over Morgana's mouth.
"What do you want to wake up the whole castle!" Merlin stage whispered.
Morgana then pulled Merlin into her room. "You had a-" Morgana asked not know how to finish.
Merlin nodded.
"Who?"
"Sir Lodis." She said and looked to the ground.
"SIR LODIS!" She cried!
"Yes now Morgana shut up!" Merlin said and started walking towards the door.
"Wait Merlin." She turned. "Was it your first?"
"No. Will was." Merlin said sadly.
"Your friend to Ealdor?"
"Yes. We both though that our love was a romantic one. So we courted for a long time till we... ya know and realized that we didn't love each other that way." Merlin explained and smiled sadly at Morgana.
"Oh." Morgana was stunned. Merlin didn't seem like that sort of girl. To not wait until marriage.
"I have to go. I don't want to be late." Merlin started to leave.
"Wait stay. I have something you can wear for the day." Morgana went into her closet and pulled out one of Gwen's dresses.
"Here. Gwen always keeps extras in here in case she spills something in herself. I'm sure she won't mind you borrowing it." Merlin took the dress.
"Thank you."
Together her and Morgana worked on making her look nice. Brushing out her hair and removing the makeup.
By the time she was done it was time to wake up Arthur.
—
It was around noon where Merlin, with Arthur's lunch, ran into Uther.
"Sire." She said politely.
"Merlin." He nodded.
The two stood in awkward silence until they both made eye contact and started laughing.
"I cannot believe us." Uther said with a shake of his head.
"I blame the alcohol." Merlin said with a smile.
"Alcohol. The bane of our existence." Uther said and clapped his hands together. "Good day Merlin."
"Good day to you as well." She said and started back to Arthur's chambers.
What a day.

Just something I thought of and wanted to right so badly. So yeah. Enjoy.
