Katies POV

A crisp autumn wind blows in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Our father,  Bobby Singer, comes home from an exhausting day at work as a “mechanic” he always told us. My little sister Marissa and I run to him as he walks through the door to greet him like we always do. We look up at him and find three huge claw-like marks across his face.
“Daddy w-what happened to your face?” Marissa asked dad.
Dad stays silent and our mom, Karen,  walks in from the kitchen to greet dad and tells us that dinner's ready and we should go wash up. Marissa and I run upstairs to the bathroom.
“What do you think happened to daddy’s face, Katie” Marissa says as she put soap into her hands.
I look down at her and smile.
“He probably just got into a fight with a stray cat or something..  I wouldn't worry about it too much sis.. He’ll be okay. “
“Okay” Marissa says as she dries her hands on the small blue towel on the wall.
I know what those claw marks were from. A Werewolf. I know what dad does. He tells me stories about his hunting trips after I put Marissa to bed every night.  It scares me more than anything because I fear that one day, dad won't come home.

Marissa and I finish washing up and head back downstairs. Our older brothers Sam and Dean are standing at the table with mom and dad.  “Sammy! Dean!” We both yell as we run up to hug them. Sam and Dean are also part of the “family business” dad would call it.
“Hey kiddos!” Sam says as the boys pick us up and spin us around.
“We missed you so much!” I say as Sam puts me down.  Dad told us to sit so we could eat.
2 hours later,  everyone is finished eating and mom clears the table.  Sam, Dean and dad are in dad's office talking about work. Mom tells me to take Marissa to bed. I pick up Marissa and she lays her head on my shoulder and falls asleep peacefully before I can get all the way upstairs. I tuck her in and she opens her eyes.
“Katie, are you sure daddy's gonna be okay?” Marissa says.
“I told you Rissa.. Daddy will be fine..” I say as I run my fingers through her hair trying to make her fall asleep once again. After she finally falls back asleep, I get up from her bed, and suddenly the lights start to flicker. I then heard a loud crash come from downstairs. I stop in the middle of the staircase when I see Sam knocked out on the livingroom floor and mom has Dean pinned up against the wall in the kitchen.
“Katie! Go keep Marissa safe!  We got this!” Dean yells.
Just as I turned to run back upstairs,  Marissa is standing at the top with a horrified look and tears running down her face.
“Mommy! Stop it! You're hurting Dean!” Marissa yells as mom continues to choke Dean.
“I'm not your mom, kid” Mom says as she looks at Marissa with pitch black eyes. She then does a flicking motion with her hand towards Marissa and she flies down the stairs.
“No!” I say as I run down the stairs to make sure she was okay.
“Katie! Get Marissa out of here!” Dad yells. I pick Marissa up off the floor and carry her outside to the scrapyard behind the house.
We hid behind Sam and Dean’s Impala and we hear the piercing sound of a gunshot come from the house. As soon as the gunshots stopped, I open the driver's side door to the Impala and put Marissa in the front seat.
“Stay here and I'll go check on daddy and brothers” I say as I shut the car door and run towards the house.
When I get inside, I see my mom’s lifeless body on the floor and dad, Sam and Dean all have guns pointed at her with shocked looks on their faces.
“Oh my god” I whisper to myself and I run back outside to go get Marissa.

I grab Marissa out of the Impala and try to run away from the house. As I turn around, a strange man in a long brown trenchcoat is standing there blocking my way.
“You both need to come with me. I will protect you” the man said with a very deep raspy voice.
As he goes to grab us, another man appears but this time is fairly short and has a British accent.
“I don't think so, Castiel” the short man says.
“What are you doing here Crowley?” Castiel says.
“it's a little thing called revenge sweetheart. Bobby killed one of my best demons and well, because I can,” Crowley says.
“I'm not letting you take them. I heard Dean’s prayer and I'm here to keep them safe.” Castiel says and he holds Marissa and I back. “Well I’m leaving this party. I mean we’re leaving this party” Crowley says. He then snaps his fingers and him and Marissa disappear.

“Oh my god! Where's my sister?!” I say as tears roll down my face. I never thought I'd ever have to deal with demons or any of the crazy creatures that dad deals with every single day. I definitely don't want Marissa to be dealing with it, being she's so young and she doesn't deserve this lifestyle.
“There's no time to worry about her, Katie,” Castiel exclaims “I need to take you somewhere safe.” Castiel grabs my arm with his cold bony hands and places two fingers on the middle of my forehead. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was a blinding white light that sent me into oblivion.
