Marissa’s POV
(15 years later)

It was another cold winter night in Woodstock, New York. I’ve been living with Crowley for almost 16 years now. He taught me everything I need to know about hunting. But I still feel like there is something missing. Ever since I was little, I felt like I didn’t belong with Crowley. He wants me to become this great hunter, but for some reason I don’t really want that. Growing up was hard because i never really had a lot of family it was just me and him. He never really talked about my mom, he always told me that she left him because she wasn't ready to raise a child. I think she is a sorry excuse for a mom. I didn’t really leave the house unless I was on a hunt because Crowley doesn’t want anything to happen to me. I am sitting in my room doing some research on the lore. Crowley walks in,
”What are you doing it’s like 2:00 in the morning, you should be in bed sweetheart.” he says in a tired british voice.
”I’m just doing some research on the lore for some information on the shapeshifter dad.” I say as I’m yawning.
“Just go to sleep you can get it tomorrow.” he says as he shuts the laptop. I just smile. He has always been so concerned about me. I have been so caught up in learning about hunting, it has taken over my life. It’s basically everything i do twenty-four seven. My dad leaves the room and i just lay down trying to go to sleep but i am always scared to go to sleep because i always have to same dream over and over again. After a little while of just laying there i eventually fall asleep and I have the dream.
I am five or six years old and i am standing at the top of the stairs in some house. And another girl is looking up at me. I look down and see a woman holding a man by his throat choking him and i yell at her to stop. She looks at me and she says something but i can't hear her. Then she throws me down the stairs. The little girl picks me up and carries me outside and all i hear is a bang and that is when i wake up every time.
I have been having this same dream every night for the past sixteen years. I don’t have any other dream just that one.
As I was laying in my bed, I hear my dad talking to one of his co-workers about these two guys named Sean and Doug Winchester or something like that. They were talking about how they were getting closer to finding them. In my mind I was thinking, what does he mean by them?

As soon as they walk away from my door, I get out of my bed and run over to my laptop. First, I look up their first name but nothing comes up but these two weirdos from some website called Ghostfacers. But then I look up “winchester”. Pictures of these two men appear and for some reason I felt like I knew them from somewhere. So I grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down some information on them. I folded the paper up and put it in my pocket and i was getting ready to head out to find them but my dad stops me.
“Where do you think your going?” He says with a suspicious look on his face.
”I am just going to kill the shapeshifter. I found some more information about where it could be at this moment” I say a little nervously. I have never really been good at lying to him. For some reason he can tell when I’m lying.
“Well be careful sweetheart I don’t want anything to happen to you.” he says.
“I’m always careful dad.” I say with a smile. I walk out the door to my Ford Mustang and drive off.
Later on that day, I arrive at the crime scene as “agent smith”. Just as I was about to ask what happened, the cop said “Wait isn’t one of yours already here?” and points to a girl with blonde hair. I have never seen this girl before in my life but she looks just like me. What is going on?
“Oh um yea thats my partner.” I say. So he lets me through under the caution tape and I walk up to her and grab her by her arm and pull her to the side.
“Who the heck are you and what are you doing at my crime scene?” I say with angry tone in my voice. She jerked her hand back and says, “Let go of me, I don’t know who you are but this isn’t your crime scene.” Just then she turned around and we both didn’t say anything but we just stared at each other. “I’m Marissa MacLeod and I’m a hunter. I have been looking for a shapeshifter for 3 months now and I finally got him.” I say. “Katie Novak.” is all she said, and she slowly took her hand away and looked into my eyes. But as soon as she said her name, flashbacks shot through my head. It was of all my dreams but it didn’t feel like a dream though. All of a sudden all I see is black.
                                                                (Katies P.O.V)
I know her from somewhere. I’ve seen her face before but I just can’t put my finger on it. I stop staring at her so I don’t seem like a weirdo or something.
“I’m a hunter.. I’ve been hunting a shapeshifter for 3 months now too.” I say to her and her face lights up. All of a sudden, her eyes get wide and she faints and falls to the ground. The paramedics rush over to her and ask me what happened.
“I’m not exactly sure sir. We were talking one minute and she fainted the next.” I explained to them. They rushed her to the hospital and I made sure to stay by her side because something inside me told me I should.

Growing up I’ve never really had anyone except my “father”, Castiel. He has taught me everything there is to know about the world nowadays. The monsters that go bump in the night. One time when I was 10 years old, I asked him how he knew all this and he told me that’s something he will explain to me when I’m older. I’m 25 years old now, dad still hasn’t told me anything. He doesn’t seem to age either. He’s always looked the same from when he first took me in. He told me my parents gave me up for adoption when I was 7 years old. I hope I do get to meet my real parents one day. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my father and my life but something inside tells me I need to find out who my real parents are.

We finally get to the hospital and the paramedics make sure “Marissa” is still conscious. I’m still standing right there by her side. One of the paramedics turns to me.
“Are you one of her siblings?”
“No sir, I’ve never met her before.. At least I don’t think I have.. She was apparently working with me on a case according to the other officers.” I say to them and they lead me to a room where they kept Marissa for a little while until she woke up.

30 minutes later, I’m still sitting beside Marissa’s bed waiting for her to wake up. I honestly don’t know why I’m still here, I don’t even know her. She finally wakes up.
“Good morning sunshine,” I say to her as she opens her eyes and sits up.
“Where am I?”
“You’re in the hospital.. Uh.. you kind of fainted while I was trying to talk to you about who I was.”
“Oh.. hospital? No.. Crowley.. I mean dad is..”
“Crowley?” I ask her with a confused expression.
She ignores me and tries to jump out of bed.
“You have to help me get out of here!” She yells towards me as she tries to leave the room.
“Woah woah calm down there skippy,” I say as I pull her arm back “you aren’t going anywhere. We still have to make sure you’re gonna remain conscious”
“No you don’t understand Katie! My dad is going to literally kill me if I’m not back soon!” She says with tears starting to roll down her cheek.
All of a sudden, Marissa’s phone starts to vibrate and I walk over to pick it up.
“Crowley,” I say as I hand the phone to her, “Why not put him as dad? Since he kind of is your dad”
“It’s complicated” she says as she rolls her eyes and takes the phone.
“Darling, why aren’t you home yet?” Crowley says with suspicion.
“My car broke down dad.. I promise I’ll be home soon.” She says.
I roll my eyes and take the phone away from her.
“Listen pops, your daughter is in the hospital because she fainted while working at a crime scene.” I say into the phone annoyed.
“Why would you do that?” Marissa whispered toward me.
The door to her room flies open with a great force and in walks a fairly short man with a bit of a british or scottish accent.
“We’re going home now young lady” He says and grabs Marissa’s arm and disappears.
When I saw the man walk through the door, I felt like I knew him from somewhere. He looked like one of the men from my dream. I’ve been having this same dream over and over again. Two little girls, or “sisters” run away from home because their mother was possessed by a demon and tried to kill her family. This man in a trenchcoat.. Wait.. My dad always wears a trenchcoat.. What if the dreams I’ve been having are about me and my “sister”. I don’t have any siblings, so that can’t be entirely correct.
I get home after a long day of “hunting” and greet my father.
“How was your day honey?” My dad says as he hugs me.
“It was fine.. But very weird. I met this other hunter, Marissa..” Before I could finish my sentence my dad’s face lights up with worry.
“You can’t be around her, Katie” Dad says.
“Why not dad I mean she’s not that weird”
“You just can’t.. It’s not safe for you to be near her. Do you remember when you were 10 and I told you that I couldn’t tell you about anything until you were older? Well, I can’t really tell you anything at this point in time.. It’s not safe for you to know.”
“Dad, I’m sure whatever you have to tell me I can handle, okay?” I tell dad as he places a hand on my shoulder.
“No. Katie.. I’m sorry but you just can’t” He says as he walks away.
