The Silence that You Are

I read your letters when the dawn breaks,
I hear your voice at noon,
I wait for a sign to see your elusive form,
A shadow across the moon.
I see you in my dreams,
A lone bird in the woods,
A being long forgotten,
An inheritor of many moods.
You feel so much passion,
But show that you have none,
You have a heart that wants to talk,
But at the slightest scratch, you run.
So rebuke me for my actions,
For it seems I've garnered your hate,
I'll try to redeem myself,
I'll try, before it's too late.
I've known you not for long
But I know you're not dense,
You are more sensible than me,
I'm the storm and you are silence.
While my thoughts wander off
Into places unknown,
This heart never ceases to feel,
What you have felt alone.
I'll do whatever you ask of me,
I'll listen to everything you say,
Give me a last chance,
Give me another day.
Even if you leave,
Even if you have travelled far,
This heart will never cease to love
The silence that you are.
