"We were waiting for you to call us"

I smiled at the little images of their faces on the laptop screen as i scrolled through my phone, flicking my eyes up to notice their presence

K:Oh believe me, I've been wanting to all day theres so much to tell you
C:Right which one do you fancy?
R:Carly!

They both laughed hysterically as I rolled my eyes
K:How did you know?
C:I know you too well
K:You do
I shook my head lightly fluttering my eyes around my bedroom

R:Anyway, I'm intrigued now, explain
C:Wait hold on
Rose face planted herself laughing loudly, moments like this made me miss them, and being at home with mum, i missed mum

K:Can i start now?
C:Yes but if the conversation involves anything with the words brad or Simpson then I've got some sort of sixth sense
K:Jeez

R:No way, is she right?
K:Okay, you got me
C:I knew it!
I laughed as she clicked her fingers looking proud of herself as my phone buzzed suddenly

R:Oooh who's it from?
C:Alright nosey
I looked down at my phone smiling widely at the name that suddenly popped up on the screen

From Brad:
Hey, are you still alright for tonight? If so i can pick you up outside of joes at 9 x

C:Why are you smiling?
K:No reason
R:That was from brad wasn't it
I widened my eyes shrugging as I could feel the heat rush to my cheeks
C:Kylie!
R:What does joe think about all this?

And then it hit me, brads picking me up
In a few hours outside of joes house and I still haven't told him

K:Oh shit
C:What, whats up?
K:I haven't told joe I'm going out with the boys tonight
C:Is that a bad thing?
K:Yeah, he's told me already that he doesn't want me going out with them unless its for work purposes

R:All that and here you are sexting one of his band members behind his back
K:We weren't sexting it was only about tonight
I rolled my eyes as the looked at me in disbelief

C:Look, he should be fine just tell him
K:I know, i will
C:Ky... promise me you'll tell him
I nodded lightly but she still didn't seem convinced
C:Ky!
K:God keep your hair on I'll tell him!
C:Good

I paused on my words as the sudden unlock of my bedroom door startled my movement, i quickly shut my laptop looking towards joe as he held a pizza box in his hand, smirking a little

J:I uh, I brought you some pizza, to say thanks for today
I smiled lightly as he placed the box beside me

K:You didn't have to, but thanks
J:Your welcome, and oh i was thinking we could watch a film or something later, I've got hairspray, you know your favourite
K:Im surprised you still remember
I giggled a little biting on the slice in my hands

J:I couldn't forget you wouldn't let me! You watched that shit at least 8 times a day!
K:And yet you have a copy...
He tilted his head to the side tapping his fingers against the doorway

J:Anyway, I've got to take a few calls but I'll uh, I'll see you in a bit
K:Bye

I watched as he disappeared down the stairs before quickly opening my laptop screen to see Carly and Rose staring down the camera at me angrily

K:Sorry I panicked
R:Yeah, we gathered
They smiled shaking their heads as i fiddled with my lip thinking of the different excuses i could come up with in my mind, i wanted to tell him the truth, but we are getting on so well lately and I didn't want to ruin it over this... i had to make up something, and it had to be now

A few hours later*

I breathed out heavily studying the image of my dress in the mirror as I quietly made my way down the steps, it was late so i was hoping that joe would be in the kitchen or something and he wouldn't notice i had left

I reached for the handle, biting on my lip as I concentrated on the silence of every one of my movements
J:Hey where you off to?

I closed my eyes in frustration turning around as innocently as possible as he lifted his head from the tv screen

K:My friends have invited me out, there waiting outside
J:Oh, where are you going
K:Not sure yet
He nodded uncertainly
K:Don't worry, I'll be fine
J:I know

He pulled me in for a quick hug as i shifted my body towards the door
J:Alright have a nice a time and you've got my number if you need anything
K:Yep, see you later

I opened the door quickly closing it behind me before Joe had the chance to peek past my presence and recognise who's car it was

B:Hey trouble
I smiled jumping into the seat beside him as the heavy rock music blasted through his car speakers
K:Hey i didn't know you were a rock type of guy
B:Yeah, love a bit of foo fighters
I laughed as he mimicked playing a guitar banging his head to the continuous beat

B:You look nice tonight by the way, i like your dress
I smiled lightly tilting my head to the side, fiddling with my fingers as he waited for a reply...why was i being so awkward around him?

K:Oh, thanks you don't look too bad yourself
B:Yeah well, i always scrub up nice for the ladies
I shook my head as he started the ignition, laughing lightly to himself

K:You alright?
B:Yeah I'm just surprised your here, didn't think joe would let you out with us
I sighed at his words as he looked at me in worry
B:You told joe you were doing this, right?
K:I told joe i was going out with some friends, which is true but...

B:You forgot the vamps part
K:I guess
He shook his head laughing lightly
B:Your playing a dangerous game Ky

I shrugged my shoulders as we drove into the deep sunset, dangerous game it is...
