I was terrified when I found out about Melanie Clark's case. I was terrified when I also found out about Niall Horan - the boy whom she's been addicted to. I was terrified when I found out how the young girl had committed suicide. I was terrified when I found out what had happened to the young Horan, but not surprised, not at all. No one can question the fact that the boy hasn't had a good life. We have a scarce information from their families and we determined that they have been radically different from each other. The only common thing between them is they've visited the same music school in London.
The school hallway was full of laughter and screams from the students. Some were commenting their dresses which they would wear on the following holiday, others were trying to remember the last song's lyrics. And there was the third group. That group made sure to make fun of the new students.
"Let me out! Open the door," screamed Melanie. She uselessly tried to hit the door but nothing happened. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and let out a sigh. After minutes, perhaps an hour, she stopped screaming and sat on the dirty floor. She couldn't get it, locking a girl in the cleaners' room wasn't funny at all. Or maybe it was, only for the school bastards. The room was too small, there wasn't fresh air, neither a window. It was dark and muggy. The bell had to ring in five minutes. Before they locked her, she warned the boys she had claustrophobia but they didn't believe her.
"Okay, I'm just going to sit here and nothing bad will happen." she mentally told herself. She took the barrette out of her pocket and started playing with it. She felt how her heart started beating faster and faster; she was scared. She couldn't run away, she was closed and without enough air. The real impossibility.
She took her phone out of her denim jacket and instead of calling her mother, she played her favourite song."When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep
And dreamed of
Para-para-paradise, para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes."She sat there, in the dark storeroom, humming "paradise...paradise". What a fucking irony. She laughed quietly.

Melanie has always been a shadow. One of the thousands shadows who have been insulted, abused. In her case - she has been both physically and mentally humiliated by not only her mother but her classmates, too. And Niall Horan has never been different from them.
She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She stood up and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She was not surprised, she had fallen asleep probably because of the lack of fresh air. Melanie started panicking, what time was it? Her breathing quickened, she had to get out. She tried to open the door but it still was locked, what a lame joke! Her mind was blurred and she could hardly breathe. There was a tattooed neon sign on her mind, "You're going to faint... you're going to stay here forever".
She hit the door, again. She didn't know what to do, the only decision was screaming.
"Open the door! Open it! Help me! Come on! Open the fucking door!", suddenly the door flew open and before she could fall on the dusty floor, strong hands caught her.
"What the hell were you doing inside?" his voice was rude, his hands as well. Melanie was unpleasantly surprised. It was him. He was one of the strangest boys she had ever seen. He was not a typical teenager, all of his clothes were black. His face had no expression, neither had hers. His tattoo showed under the long black sleeve, the piercing on his right eyebrow and on his mouth were impressing. He was scary, she thought. She had heard God knows how many stories about him. His hair was dirty blond, any girl in the school wanted to run their hands through it. She, on her side, felt pain. He was still holding her, he had probably left bruises. His hands were squeezing hers so strongly as if he wanted to hurt her. Not that he would be the first one. She hissed and pulled away from him. She didn't dare to look at his eyes, she didn't want to.
"I asked you something! How long have you been here?"
"Maybe an hour or two." She sounded so pathetic. He let out a loud laugh, then nodded and smiled.
"Now you owe me a favor. I let you out and you're going to pay me for that."
"W-what?"
"You heard me, you fool! I guess you have problems with your hearing, too." He let go of her hand. He lit a cigarette and turned around, letting Melanie look at his back. Then obviously amused, he left her standing alone and confused in the middle of the hallway. From: "Children's shadows" - John Miller (page 20)
The policemen, as well as the medics, have been really worried about the 19-year-old Horan's mental health. When one of them has asked him what does agression mean, he has answered "An activity which aims to hurt a living organism.". His answer led to the conclusion that Melanie was in danger.
A/N: So this is it. I know it's short but I cannot change it as long as I translate it. But I'll try to publish the next chapter as soon as I can, only if someone reads of course. You can leave a comment below or tweet me what you think (@mermaidhoran). Thank you :-) x
