The blond girl was staring silly at the white ceiling. Her eyes were following the lightened spots caused by the sunshines. She wasn't even blinking. Her heart kept beating fast. Her legs started shaking whenever she thought of him. She was repeating the scene again and again. For her, it seemed like her eyes were floodlights and the ceiling was representing a screen. On the screen appeared majority of flying words. Gradually, the words started forming sentences. And in every sentence there was his name.
Why was Niall becoming so aggressive and violent near her?
Why was he so rude?
After millions of questions, the scene repeated again in her head.
"Guess who'll sing with you on the Black Friday." His words were echoing in her mind. She was shocked. This had to be a joke.
"What do you mean, Niall?"
"What the fuck are you doing, Horan?!" shouted Florian. He stood behind Niall and watched carefully what was happening.
Niall immediately turned around and looked at the confused boy. His eyes were scary enough to make Flo shut his mouth.
"Why do you care, loser?" Niall smiled. And that wasn't a good thing. He let go of Melanie and crossed his arms. Melanie finally could breathe.
"She's my friend, of course I care! And a person would never know what to expect from a psychopath like you." Florian pretended to be strong and calm.
Melanie was not scared. She was angry. She was sad. She didn't know whether to run away or support Florian. But all she did was trying to breathe properly, again.
Niall's face instantly changed. He smiled again and put his hand in his pocket. Then he pulled out a little, silver knife and pointed it at Florian's throat. Melanie covered her mouth with her hand in order not to scream.
"Listen, dickhead! Be careful or you might get hurt, one way or another."
"So this is what you're always doing? You scare the weaker than you?"
"Oh, now the baby consider itself weaker than me? Dumbass." Niall laughed. He accepted Flo's words as a joke. He accepted everything as a joke. His life was a fucking joke. For him, you either win or get killed.
"Go away before..." Florian was interrupted.
"Before what? Are you trying to fight me, princess? Go and hide in a hole, you goddamn ass!"
"Before I call the police, Horan."
Niall laughed. Quietly this time. It was a slow, low laughter.
"I'm not done with you," then Niall turned towards Melanie " I'll see you soon, don't miss me too much darling." Her eyes widened and he smirked.
And before leaving the building, he didn't miss to hit Florian's shoulder.
Then the ceiling turned into a ceiling again.
"Melanie, get the fuck out of your room and help your brother with his homework!" screamed her mother. The voice was coming from the hallway. Melanie got up and took her bag. Then she left the room and walked past her mother without paying any attention.
"Did you hear me, Melanie?!" This wasn't a question. This was more like an 'come back and do your job before I slam your head against a wall' order.
"I have rehearsals." Melanie sighed. She went back to her room to get her laptop.
"What do you mean? What rehearsals?" her mother wondered, still leaning on the door's frame.
