This has taken so long, and I'm really sorry. I've just had exams and stuff. This is kinda short, but I wanted to get to the wedding!

It was the day of the wedding, and the castle was flying with colours, banners, flowers, and overflowing with festivities. Merlin wasn't use to the fuss being about him, and certainly not use to having people fuss over him. He'd had his haircut, a bath drawn for him, and he'd been clothed in fine clothes for the wedding. He'd had to look at himself twice in the mirror, not recognising himself. There was a knock at the door some minutes later. He opened the door to see Arthur.
"You're not here to give me another talking to, are you?" He sighed, stepping aside to allow Arthur within.
"You can relax, I come in peace."
Merlin rolled his eyes, and shut the door behind his friend before following him into the dining area of his chambers. He took a seat opposite the blonde, trying to search his face for an emotion that would suggest the conversation that would follow. He didn't seem perturbed, or upset, thoughtful perhaps. After another moment in silence, Arthur opened his mouth.
"In the nicest way possible, I never thought this day would come."
Merlin quirked an eyebrow, wondering how that sentence could ever be nice.
"You, are marrying my sister." He adverted his gaze. "You, my best friend."
Merlin knew this to be true, of course he did, but it still surprised him when Arthur said this.
"And I'm very happy for you."
Merlin smiled broadly at the young king, who smiled back. He stood then, Merlin following suit, and placed a hand on the slightly taller man's shoulder.
"Look after each other. And if you ever make her breakfast in bed, hopefully you won't drop it on her as you did me."
They both chuckled at the memory, then Arthur clapped him on the back, and disappeared out the door. Merlin stood there in thought for a moment, staring at his shoes. There was another knock at the door; this time it was Gaius.
"Are you ready, my boy?"
"Surprised you have to ask."
Merlin walked over to Gaius, who embraced him a hug.
"I'm proud of you, my son."
Merlin hugged him back, hoping no one would notice the tears on his cheeks.
