The breeze of the sea softly whispered through her mahogany colored locks, the cool touch gently dancing over her pale skin as the rays of the sun almost seemed to reflect off her. There were noises of crowds around her, machinery working at full power, people talking and speculating, marching past her in a hurry as they had a job to do. Even with her eyes close, she could feel their prying eyes burning holes through her skin, but she couldn't blame them. It wasn't every day that they saw a young woman - no older than twenty - in a criss-cross-applesauce position as she levitated in thin air. It was one of the abilities she taught herself over the years as she struggled to cope with her abilities.
At first, it was just mere meditation for the sake of calming the brewing storm of power inside her, to keep her emotions contained in an attempt to block out any intruders from the outside. She then learned how to channel her energy down to her core and in doing so, enabled herself to detach herself from gravity and float above it. The more she practiced, the easier levitation became and soon she was able to fly almost carelessly.
The moment she set foot on the aircraft, her entire body was shaking with nerves. She disliked S.H.I.E.L.D. to say the least, almost as much as she disliked HYDRA. The moment she arrived she stood eye to eye with the director himself and if it wasn't for Natasha reminding her to stay calm and trust her, the aircraft would no longer be airborne. In fact, if it wasn't for Natasha, she wouldn't have been there in the first place, but the situation was dire and a close friend's life was at stake. When Natasha told her that a man named Loki - an alien she had gathered from how her friend described him - had stolen the Tesseract and used it to control Clint, she knew she had to repay the favor he once did her and help safe his life.
"Incredible." She heard someone breathe, a shadow cast upon her as a figure had stopped in front of her and blocked out the sunlight. The person moved closer, almost circling around her as if observing every inch of her.
"Can I help you?" She muttered softly, peeking one eye open as the figure returned to his original position in front of her. Before her stood a small man, curly dark brown hair illuminated by the sunlight as he pushed his glasses further onto his face.
"H-how are you doing that?" The scientist stuttered, completely amazed by the sight in front of him. He was no stranger for the supernatural but was at awe at how things like levitation worked.
"Levitating?" She replied, opening her other eye as she released herself from her meditative position and softly landed with both feet on ground. She stood at almost the same height as the scientist and could look him straight in the eyes without any straint. "I just focus my energy to the core of my body and... I just... float."
"You just... float?" He arched a brow at her explanation, she could tell the wheels in his head were turning at rapid speed as her simplistic theory didn't seem to make enough sense. But she didn't really know how else to explain it, she wasn't even sure of herself how she managed to channel her own powers into the ability to break free from gravity. She couldn't even tell anyone where her powers came from or how she managed to summon them, she just did it.
"Yup. I just float." She grinned innocently in return.
"What else can you do?" The girl wanted to reply but was interrupted by two new figures joining in on the conversation.
"Doctor Banner." the tall blonde greeted the scientist with a content smile, Lilith observed the man beside Natasha and figured this must have been the legendary Captain America who was brought over to help with the case. A super soldier, pulled from a cryogenic state since the second world war and enhanced with superhuman strength and speed. She recalled hearing his name being mentioned back when she was still captive but never really thought about it until now.
