Agent Coulson, Steve and Lilith were standing in the bridge, waiting for something to happen. They were informed that Steve and Lilith were going to be the first on standby should anything happen, though Lilith wasn't quite sure why she had to tag along if the almighty Captain America was going down there himself. She also had to promise Natasha to use her powers as limited as possible, which meant she had to rely on the combat skills taught by the two agents in secret.

"I mean, if it's not too much trouble..." Lilith rolled her eyes as she listened to the older agent spazz around as he finally managed to talk to his hero about his Captain America card collection. It was almost cute in a way how this grown man working for a super secret government organisation was stuttering and flustered as he spoke to the man he idolized.

"No-no, it's fine," Steve replied, too kind for his own good. It took some time for him to get used to the fact that people still saw him as this amazing hero. He was aware that he had done some great things before and even after he was frozen, but he never imagined to be one of those childhood heroes people collected baseball cards of.

"It's a vintage set. Took me a couple of years to collect them all. Near mint, slight foxing around the edges but-" Coulson continued to spazz until another voice interrupted him.

"We got a hit, sixty seven percent," Agent Sitwell spoke up, he had been running face checks for the last couple of hours in an attempt to track down Agent Barton's whereabouts and possibly find the Tesseract as well. "Wait- crossmatch, seventy nine percent."

"Location?"

"Stuttgart, Germany." Agent Sitwell read from his screen. "Twenty eight, Königstraße. He's not exactly hiding."

"Captain, you're up." Fury told the tall blonde, before turning to the smaller girl. "So are you." Lilith refused to look at the taller, dark man and merely followed after Steve to get ready for their dispatch.

Unlike Steve, Lilith didn't have to get changed into any special suit of armor. While he was staring at the familiar red-white-blue starred outfit that S.H.I.E.L.D. had prepared for him, she let her eyes wander down her reflection for a moment. She was already donned with tightly fitting black catsuit made out of a fabric similar to spandex, decorated with rims of purple to add in some color contrast - purple being her favorite color just adding a bonus to the comfort - light and comfortable combat boots giving her grip on the solid ground below her and accessorized with black leather gloves. Her outfit was similar to the suits the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents wore as this was one of the items of clothing Natasha gifted her not too long ago and used it whenever she trained her skills.

"So what's the plan?" Lilith wondered, all she heard was that the two of them were going in to make sure neither Loki nor the brainwashed Clint would do any harm and possibly take a chance at catching the alien infiltrating their precious planet. But the bigger question now was - how?

"If agent Barton is down there, Loki can't be far behind. Which means, the cube can't be far behind." Steve explained calmly, running his hands over the bright silver star in the middle of his chest as if overcome with nostalgia. "We need to try and capture both while making sure no innocents get hurt."

"Easier said than done, Cap..." Lilith muttered softly.

As they arrived on the scene, Loki had already made his appearance. Donned in his black, gold and green armor, a large horned helmet on his head hiding his black sleek hair, golden staff in hand which he used to attack a scientist earlier and now threatened to use on the crowd as he demanded them to bow down to him. And so they did, in fear of what was to come.

"Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state?" He began his speech, looking around the kneeling crowd with a proudly satisfied smirk. His words oozing out of his lips like a serpent hissing at its prey. "It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity." Listening to his speech, Lilith's mind began to ponder his words. As much as she wanted to believe that this man was someone with terrible intentions - as most people hungry for world domination are - his words somehow sounded with a hint of truth and she experienced it first hand. Revoking someone's freedom in the desperate attempt to gain power, to gain control, to rule, it was a fault of humanity. "You were made to be ruled. In the end- you will always kneel."

The crowd merely stared in silence, holding their breaths as they feared for their lives every second they were in the presence of this being. Lilith had crept closer and hidden among the crouching people, blending in as this was part of the plan the two had quickly come up with. They just had to wait for the right moment to strike, to catch Loki off guard.

That moment soon came as an elderly man decided to rebel against the threat and rose to his feet. "Not to men like you."

Loki smirked, his gaze zeroing in on the foolishly brave old man. "There are no men like me."

"There are always men like you."

He pondered over the man's words for a moment, neither angered nor insulted but rather amused by the insolence of this older man who dared defy the word of the god that stood before them. "Look to your elder, people. Let him be an example." He raised his scepter before aiming at the elderly man and firing with the full intention of killing the man. Alas, a blur of blue moved in between just in time, raising his shield up to deflect the beam back at the owner and promptly blasting Loki onto the ground.

"You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everyone else," Steve mentioned casually. "We ended up disagreeing."

"The soldier--" Loki almost grinned as he rose back to his feet. "The man out of time."

"I'm not the one who's out of time." As if on cue, an aircraft appears behind the crowd, the quinjet. Piloted by Natasha - the Black Widow - a pair of guns unfold underneath the aircraft's wings as they aim at the Asgardian in front of them.

"Loki, drop the weapon and stand down." Natasha's voice echoes over the speaker, but Loki ignores the demand. Instead, he raised his scepter and fired at the quinjet, the aircraft banking hard to avoid the hit as Steve took this moment of distraction to lunge himself towards Loki. In the first moment of the scuttle, Captain America seemed to have the overhand until one unguarded moment allowed Loki to dispose of his trusted shield and raise his scepter, forcing the super soldier down on his knees.

"Kneel!" Loki demanded, the light of his scepter visibly hurting the super soldier as Captain America tried his best to resist. His jaw clenched, he fought against the power of the scepter as he refused to kneel down.

"Not today!" A voice called out of the crowd but before Loki could even make a move, a hard round object boomeranged into him, slamming him out of the way and dropping the scepter on the ground. Steve glanced up to see his shield hovering before him, rimmed with a black shadow illuminating its levitation. Surprised, Steve turned to look at the young girl in the crowd, her hands raised forward as pulsing black shadows were dancing around her fingertips.

"You dropped this, Cap." Lilith grinned as she released her control over the shield, the object tumbling down for Steve to catch it smoothly before giving her a thankful salute.

Loki scrambled up from the ground and grabbed his scepter once more, glaring at the young girl in the distance before flicking his scepter towards her, a beam of energy hurling towards her. Lilith noticed the attack coming just in time and only nearly managed to jump out of the way, flicking her wrist to summon up a shield of black over the poor people in the crowd, protecting them from any harm the missed attack could do them. Loki merely snarled before his attention was drawn back to the fight with Steve, the star-spangled soldier engaging in another fist fight.

Out of nowhere, another beam of energy shoots through the crowd and hits Loki head on, knocking him to his feet once more. In the center of the crowd, Iron Man lands with his palm aimed at their enemy, ready to fire another repulsor blast. "Make a move, reindeer games." As if aware how outnumbered and overpowered he was, Loki's Asgardian armor disappears and is replaced by the black suit he originally wore, raising his hands to the sky in surrender. "Good move."

Captain America and Lilith join the red armored man in the center of the fight, the younger girl staring down at the surrendered man with a questionable look. For someone who was supposed to be an interdimensional threat, he sure looked a lot like an average human. Then again, so did she and who knew what being she truly was.

"Didn't think you were the babysitter type, Captain." Lilith head snapped around to face the smug man with a glare she was sure could pierce straight through his iron armor. She knew exactly who this man was, Tony Stark, the infamous cocky billionair alter ego of Iron Man. "Down, kid."
