After a few days of resting my mom drove me back to school and as soon as I walked into the office the principal walked over to me and my mom. "If you ever need any help do not feel embarased to ask for it." the principal said. "Thats funny because a few weeks ago you told me to go to detention because I was protecting myself from Jim who got no punishment. I don't think I'll be needing any help from the school OR from you." I said. I turned around and looked at my mom and smiled. "Bye mom." I said. She looked at me shocked but quickly shook her head and smiled sweetly at me. "Have a nice day sweety." she said. I turned back around and pushed past the principal and walked out of the office. I walked over to my locker, unlocked it, grabbed my thing, then locked my locker again. I turned around and was greeted by Kat. "Roses are red, cacti are prickly, and I must say damn, that escalated quickly." she said while laughing. I hugged her and she hugged me back. "I'm so glad your ok." I said. "I'm glad your ok too." she said. We stopped hugging and we looked at eachother. She laughed and smiled and I saw the happiness in her eyes. The five minute bell rang and she jumped at the sound of it. "It's only a bell." I said. "Shut up." she said chuckling. "Well you better go to class. I'll see you later." I said. We walked our separate ways and I walked into my classroom. I sat in the back of the class as normal. Today was going to be interesting.
~TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY MEEEEEE~
I walk out of my classroom and over to my locker. I shove my shit it my locker then lock it. I walk out of the school and see Kat walking alone. I saw her shoulders bobbing up and down every now and then. I ran over to her and she was a crying mess. "Kat what's wrong?" I asked her. "My f-friends all hate m-me. They don't think th-that Paul shot us... th-they think that I made it u-up to get attention..." she said through sobs. "Well how can they solve your arm?" I asked. "They think that I was the one who did the shooting. Th-they think it's all m-my fault." she said. She hugged me tightly and I hugged her back. "It's ok Kat." I said while rubbing circles onto her back. "What if it is my fault?" she asked. "It's not your fault Kat it's mine." I said. Kat looked up at me and she looked hurt by what I said. "It was not your fault. Nothing was your fault it was all my fault." she said. I shook my head no. "Nothing was ever your fault Kat you don't know what your talking about." I said. "No. He hit me. I knew he was bad for me but I still stayed with him. I knew it wasn't healthy but I was to scared to do anything. It's my fault for staying with him." she said. "Oh would you shut up already?" I asked. I pulled her closer to me and my lips met hers. She pulled away and looked up at me. I looked into her icy blue eyes and she smiled as the tears in her eyes disappeared. "Kat I love you..." I said as my heart started to race while I was thinking about what what she was going to say. "I-" she was interrupted by a car horn. We looked at a black car and her older brother, Jason, rolled down the passenger side window and leaned over to the passenger side. "Get your ass in here Kitty. I need to go to a meeting so hurry up and get in here!" Jason screamed. I looked back at Kat and we stopped hugging. Kat looked up at me and forced a smile. "He calls me Kitty. It's a nickname he's called me since I was a kid. I have to go... see you tomorrow?" she asked. I nodded my head. "See you tomorrow." I said. She ran to the car and got into the passenger seat. The car drove off and I walked home still nervous about telling Kat that I like her. I walk into the house and my dad walks over to me which was a surprise. I rarely see my dad because he works so much. He comes home early on wednesdays but not mondays. "Hey dad..." I said a little confused. "I came home early to see how you where." he said smiling. "That's great but I have homework to do." I said. I pushed past my dad and I went into the dining room. I took my backpack off and sat at the dining room table. My dad pulled out a chair and sat next to me. I took out my math homework and grabbed a pencil and my calculator and started reading the problems. "That seems hard, do you need some help?" he asked. I sighed and looked at him. "No dad I don't need help." I said. I grabbed my stuff and ran upstairs and ran into my bedroom and closed my door. My dad started knocking on my door and I locked it. "Come on son, I just want to spend some time with you." he said through the door. "I don't care. I'm busy now leave me alone!" I screamed. I heard him sigh then walk away. I leaned onto my door and dropped my shit and slid down the door. I never had a good relationship with my dad. And I don't plan to have one soon.
