The Gift

Chapter Three

"You will be walking along the parade route" Hux, a red headed demon, said to the guards.

Rey stood next to Kylo, his handsome hair nicely brushed and he no longer wore his helmet. He had on a dark suit and his cape. He wore dark gloves and she could tell that his wedding ring was on from the way his glove fit on his left ring finger.

"And as the emperor and empress are driven along the sunroof will be present, thus hiding their faces"

"No" Rey said and everyone faces remained calm.

"No?!" Hux said angrily. "Ren control you're wife"

"Let her speak, she is your empress show her some damn respect" Kylo barked and Hux blinked angrily and allowed Rey to speak.

"I want the sunroof down. I want to be able to see the people face to face. For them to know what their emperor and empress look like. I don't want people to see me as some damsel in distress. Kylo and I are equals." She told him.

"Whatever she wants she gets!" Kylo said.

"Alright no sunroof" Hux said as he marched off.

Although Rey had asked for no sunroof she had to admit that was foolish.

It was freezing. The harsh winds were hitting her skin. She wore a gown that did nothing to cover her bare arms or protect her from the cold.

As the parade went on Kylo noticed her chill and he quickly took off his dark thick cloak and threw it around her shoulders.

"Kylo I" She began but he put his hand on her thigh.

"You're turning blue. It would be cruel of me not to offer you some warmth... wife" he smirked as their carriage continued.

She smiled and wrapped the warm cloak around her body.

When their retired until supper Kylo found Rey in the med bay.

He saw her through the glass getting vitamins and such.

"Kylo" he turned to see Hux, with a disgusted look on his face.

"Yes ?" He asked.

"Your little wife put on quite a show... you're lucky the public finds her idiotic tendencies charming"

"Idiotic ?" He asked.

"She wore a thin gown with no sleeves in 35 degree weather with the sun roof down!" Hux said.

"She wanted to see the people... and I gave her my cloak if you don't remember. So how about you watch your mouth next time you want to say something about my wife the galaxy's empress" Kylo spat and walked off.

Hux rolled his eyes and he walked away.

After supper Kylo was in his training room when he felt began to hear his wife's thoughts and see her.

Rey was looking in the mirror. She wore just a thin silk nightgown and she pulled it back over her stomach.

"Is anyone in there?" She asked her womb "if so... I know it's soon. Your father and I may have only conceived you last night... I hope someone's there... you have no idea how much I want you" She then let go of the nightgown and walked to the counter.

She opened a box that read pregnancy test. "Pee on the stick and wait 5 minutes... seems simple enough"

Kylo then decked not to watch from there. He quickly grabbed a towel and rubbed off the sweat on his skin from workout.

He then drank a glass of water and grabbed his stuff to make his way to save heir room.

He opened the door to their room and heard crying.

He ran to the bathroom and saw Rey crying on the floor "Rey?!" He asked.

"I'm not pregnant" she sobbed.

Kylo kneeled down and sighed "it's too early to tell" he said running his hands over her face and tucking back some of her hair.

"What?!" She asked.

"You don't know if you're pregnant because my part could still be fighting through your egg... wait two weeks" he said.

"Okay" she took a deep breath. "You're all sweaty" she said when she realized it was too soon. She moved away from her husband and stood up.

"I was training" he said "you could train too" he smiled.

"I will... but I'm tired and I need to go bed" she said and walked to their bed.
"And don't try coming to bed without a shower" she said and he chuckled. "I mean it Kylo" she said and he walked to the shower.
