Fear. An emotion I don't usually feel, I normally just walk in without question. But this... This... This was different. If I wasn't already sitting in one of the leather chairs, I would have collapsed. Wrathe rested her hand on the back of my chair leaning, shook like me. The only one who didn't look scared or surprised was Rusk. His face said one thing, he knew this would come. His voice was bland with no emotion, "of course." I was about to ask what he meant but I didn't have to, "Ever since I can remember my mum's been telling me that one day I would go to a school who can help me but not before something big. Was the monster that something big?"

My dad smiled, "Possibly. Your mother has always been good with foresight, and time magic in general. But, I fear this 'something big' you speak of is bigger, not physically big but big none the less. We will see soon enough what this is but for now, you two best go home your parents have been informed and understand what must be done." With that, he pushed us from the office and slammed the oak doors behind us. I felt a small blast of power come from the door, obviously a locking spell.

I walked my friends to their homes along the way we talked about what was going to happen. "we have 2 months to prepare for this big trip. That's not long." They both nodded in agreement. "Wait a minute, when I did that spell you guys weren't looking at my hand but my eyes?"

They looked at each over and nodded, "When you were casting the spell your eyes changed, the iris went the colour of the magic disc you summoned but your pupil shrank until we couldn't see it. Your eyes looked like tunnels, and I've only ever read about one person who had that." I asked who but she simply shook her head and looked down. When Wrathe doesn't want to talk, don't try to talk to her. I learnt the hard way.

My eyes looked like tunnels? How? Why? I started questioning myself internally on why it might be. We reached Wraths house and we hugged goodbye, whilst Rusk said goodbye I leant on a lamppost and asked my self one last question who is she so hesitant about? I made an internal note to ask my dad when I'm home. "You ok"Rusk's deep voice pushed me out of my day-dream state.

"Yeah. Yeah, all good" we continued our walk talking about magic and how cool we could be and how many people we could save. To think I would soon be going to a magical school and become a Warlock! Thoughts dispersed across my mind, I walked straight into a lamp post. Rusk burst into laughter as I rubbed the sore patch that now lay on my forehead.

We reached Rusks' house as the sun was starting to hide behind the building across the road. We walked in and straight back out the back. Along the way, we agreed that once we reached his we would try and do a simple spell.

I talk him through the steps to get into a Warlocks' warrior stance. Feet shoulder width apart, eyes steady and straight, hands just above the waist, palms open. Once we were both in position and had his mum, a semi-master Witch, watching us we attempted to cast some spells she had asked us to do. For me, a water moving spell, and for Rusk a rock moving spell. I steadied my pulse and slowed my breathing, I muttered the enchantment under  my breath, "Coro Neuku Ikari." A sparkling azure blue disc, with more discs inside, appeared in front of my hand that span until all discs locked into place and began to glow, whilst it felt like it took minutes it must have barely taken seconds as the birds above us had hardly moved in flight. The pond water in Rusk's garden slowly started to drip upwards towards the sky before collecting around head hight. It formed a large ball of water that held steady above me.

Then it popped.

Water fell on us like a ton of bricks, drenching all three of us. But, instead of getting angry, Rusk's mum burst into laughter, said a quick incantation and put all the water back into the small pond. Rusk was in hysterics before regaining his posture and concentration entering a warlocks stance and speaking the incantation aloud, "Riek Bran Rrok!" an umber brown disc, with discs inside,  formed in front of his hands spinning and locking into place. The pebbles surrounding the flower patch began to vibrate and jump up and down. Slowly, one by one the pebbles began to float up and formed a ring in the sky. But, just like mine, they fell covering the garden in pebbles scattered everywhere. We kept trying until we could hold up water and stones for 30 mins easily. Afterwards, Rusk's mum, Sally, told me it was time for me to head home and opened the secret path at the back of the garden that connected his house to mine, only a Mage can access it. I said my goodbyes and headed home.

I was only halfway when I saw the explosion.
