Fear burst into me like a ten-ton truck. My pace quickened to a sprint. The explosion reached as high as a four-story building, blocking the setting sun in a mix of fire and smoke. At my sprinting pace, I reached my now burning home in within a few minutes when it would usually take ten. I collapsed to my knees at the sight that stood before me. The three-story building was a black silhouette in the jungle of flames that surrounded it. It was as if a fiery monster had come along and eaten the whole house.
My legs failed. I collapsed to my knees and silently wept. "Lia!" Wrathe's voice sounded from what sounded like a large distance but I looked up to see her standing right beside me. People had gathered to watch the house and I could hear sirens on their way, I knew they couldn't do anything though. This fire was magic, I could feel it. Wrathe seemed to be able to tell as well, "it's a magic fire isn't it?"
I shook my head, "why? Who? What? did this?" I asked hopelessly knowing no one would have an answer. Two fire trucks with bright blue lights burst onto the street and ten firemen jumped out. They aimed all of their water hoses at the house to no avail, Wherever their water hit the flames just grew bigger and bigger.
A cold shiver ran down my spine as I realised what had happened. I ran to the firemen and screamed at them to get everyone as far away as possible and they couldn't do anything. Their puzzled faces caused my hopes to drop until one of them agreed with me saying they would have to get more back up and to protect as many people as possible. They went off to go and move the observers to a safer position, seeming to forget about me. All apart from one, the firemen that agreed with me turned back and nodded in my direction. I felt an external Magic Force enter my own Magic Force giving me more power.
I turned back to the flames and closed my hands into fists. moving my feet into a stance, one I had never seen before. It wasn't a warlocks or witches stance. It was my own. One leg was outstretched in front of me whilst my over leg was bent supporting me from beneath, my hands were raised to my side as if I was catching a ball. My Magic Force pulsed through my entire body, filling me with power.
Determination sparkled in my eyes as I readied for whatever was to come out. I quickly glanced back to make sure Wrathe was safe, she was. Good. I turned back to see two lizard-like eyes staring back. They moved at an incredible speed jumping from the fire.
