it was a gloomy day for lee taeyong as he walked through the lonely streets. he and his friends were supposed to go to a party, but they were all surprised when taeyong said no. he felt like he needed to be alone, to think, which was actually very unlikely of him.

while walking, taeyong saw a familiar pair walking ahead of him. they were conversing loudly and didn't even notice the man trailing behind them. they headed to a park that was nearly empty. the sky looked beautiful as the sun was setting.

"i guess, it's time." he heard jisung say. he didn't hear the first part so he didn't know what it meant.

"after running away, we met this one family— " he continued on listening to jisung's story that sounded, familiar. then the thought seemingly smacked him, it was their, no, his story.

taeyong needed to think fast, this can't happen. it would be bad if she knew what happened in the past because he knew that the second the truth comes out, it will be hell. his reputation will be even more tarnished, jisung might get caught when one reports, and haeun might not take the truth very well.

taeyong saw a ball lying around and then looked for a perfect space. 'okay, i know jisung' he thought. he quickly threw the ball and saw jisung look at him, furious. he ran back without apologizing and waited for him to make a move.

"excuse me sir, but what you did there- taeyong?" he exclaimed as he saw the elder. "what are you doing here?"

"how can i just sit back when i heard my story coming out of your mouth? we never spoke of it and yet now, out of nowhere, you will?"

"taeyong," he started. "she needs to know, she has a right to! she's her child too!"

"i know that, but have you ever thought of the consequences? have you ever thought about what people will think of a parent accidentally killing his wife, resulting to his child killing him?"

"taeyong-"

"have you ever thought what will happen when people see that the child just ran away and forgot all about them and how his brother did his best to cover it all up?"

"stop-"

"and... have you ever thought about how she will take it? she barely survived when you left and now you'll blurt it all out as some kind of murder. wouldn't she be greatly affected by that?" taeyong fumed.

"who do you think is the most affected by this?" jisung turned his back on the elder and looked down. "the child who was left by her mother and remained clueless-" he took a deep breath and lowered his voice-"or the adopted child that got nothing but hate from his 'fathers' who saw his mother get murdered in front of him?"

"fine, i won't tell her, but remember that in time she will know because it's inevitable." jisung walked away from the elder, angrily. he took haeun's arm and quickly went away from the park, from him.
