There isn't much you can really do in an empty castle. I mean, theres no one to talk to and Crimson disappeared. This is what led me to continue wandering the halls of the castle.Thats when I came to a library. It wasn't a small library either. It was HUGE. The walls were lined with books and it had even more bookshelves in the middle of the room, along with desk to just sit down and read. This castle really had everything.
I decided if Crimson wasn't going to help me much I could do some research myself. I skimmed along the shelves until I came upon a book labeled " Reylim Family History". I sat down at a desk and a candle at the table lit up. I flipped through the pages till I saw a familiar face.
It was the King I saw. King Preston Engel. Next to his picture was the woman I saw. Queen Florin. She was dressed exquisitely and she held a black haired baby in her arms.
The caption that was under it read Queen Florin and her son Phyris. So they did conceive a child. I turned the page and there was who I guessed was an older King Phyris with a white haired woman.
"Maryium Sallese married King Phyris soon after the war, together they had three beautiful children. Kryn, Adyson and Visgarth. Eventually King Phyris died an early death and Kryn took over. Adyson and Visgarth went on to do other things. Adyson was one of the first defects to win the Annual Fighting Festival. "
Defects...Defects are when dragon shifters, someone who can change into a dragon at will, and a demon conceive a child. A child that has inherited both genes, that cancel each other out, so they inherit none of the magic of the parents. They are often pretty powerless and only have heightened senses and strength. They often don't win very much, and if they do they have to try really hard.
The picture of Adyson, was one of a little girl, with a head of long grey hair and a torn up dress. Dirt smeared across her face. She stood with a boy that looked identical to her, sharing a similar head of grey hair, wearing a blue, dirtied up suit. A smile strewn across both their faces. They both had matching green eyes.
" Adyson and Visgarth were twins, both sharing a wild nature. Kryn the eldest wasn't the same. He always held a calm and patient tone." I flipped the page.
There was a picture of a boy, older than his brother and sister. He stood straight and had interesting hair....it was white at the top and faded into an ombre to black. He had a blue jacket and a scarf around his neck. He had a set of brown eyes, dark and cold unlike his siblings bright and happy ones.
It was off-putting and made me uncomfortable. I slowly closed the book unsure if I intruded on something personal.
I got up and put the book away, searching for another one. It was one about the human world. I set the book back on the desk and continued reading. I didn't get very far till I fell asleep.
Now dreams aren't something that comes very often to me. But I did get one tonight. I was back at the tribe. I was sitting with my mother and brother. They were talking, but it seemed like they didn't notice I was there.
" Momma, when is Ivory coming home?" He shared the similar orange hair I had, pulled back in a braid.
"I'm not sure Jackson. She might never come back." My mother said as she hooked clothes up to dry.
" What?" Jackson just froze in his place.
" The last time someone left here to go on an adventure, the elders said they never returned. They took a group of people with them. Tales said they found a castle and raised a kingdom. They said it was stated by family called the Engels." She shook a shirt and put it on the line.
