Chapter 26

If anyone wants me to finish what she started, message me.

My eyes opened, knowing that it was finally the next day. I shot up from my bed as I stretched my arms.

"Ah," I said, turning to Pikachu. "Hey buddy, how are you doing this fine morning?" I got up and walked towards the window. I pushed the curtains aside, letting the sunlight in. "Lovely day today!"

"Pika..." Pikachu sweat dropped watching

"Wheeeee!" I yelled, picking up Pikachu and swinging him around and around and around...

"...Ash? What are you doing?"

I looked toward my door.

"Oh! Serena! I didn't know you were there," I stuttered.

"Breakfast is ready, silly. And I made scrambled eggs with ketchup for you, Pikachu!" she replied.

"Chuuuu!!" cooed Pikachu.

I took a shower, threw on some clothes, and headed to the dining room.

"Good morning, Ash!" the girls remarked.

"Good morning!" I responded.

I was so hungry that I couldn't wait any longer so I quickly picked up my fork and started rapidly scooping up eggs from my play and shoveling them into my mouth faster than a Hitmonchan can punch.

Then it hit me.

"Oh god... I don't feel to good," I uttered.

Misty immediately retorted "Well that's what you get for being a pervert.. you PERVERT."

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Serena run out of the kitchen into the dining room.

"Ash!" she yelled.

"I think he might have a fever," said Dawn.

"I'll grab some wet towels," said Miette.

"And I'll grab the.. what the.. ASHY BOY R U OKAY???"

Just from the voice I could tell Gary was here... uninvited as usual.

"No... I feel like... throwing up."

With Gary's help, I trudged back to my room and got in bed. He drew my covers over my body. So cold.

"Get well soon man. Or I'll steal Serena from you in the meantime! Ha HAA!" he laughed.

"What would Misty think about that, huh Gary ;)" I managed to utter, "besides, Serena is mine."

"I'm whose?"

I turned a dark shade of crimson. Of course she had to walk in at the worst time. Ever since she kissed me on Valentine's Day I had been growing stronger and stronger feelings for her. But I just couldn't let anyone know. No. I couldn't.

"What? No one's. Whatchu mean?" I shakily responded.

"Ok Ashy whatever you say" she giggled.

"I'll see you two luvdisks later. Smell ya later!" Gary walked out of the room.

Serena started blushing and turned away. "Shut up, Gary!" she shouted.

Serena sat down on the side of my bed, facing the door.

Neither of us knew what to say. We just sat in awkward silence.

"Serena", I said, "water... need water"

I saw it all in slow mo. She gracefully took her right palm and gently placed it on my forehead. Her hand was so soft, so perfect. In that moment I felt as if I could die happy.

"Holy cow, you have a high fever" Serena remarked.

She ran out of the room and quickly returned with a glass full of ice cold water. Just how I like it. I tried to grab the glass from her but she said "No! You're too weak. Let me help you"

How could I resist that.

She gently held the glass up to my lips and tipped the ice cold liquid into my mouth. Boy, did that taste good.

"Th-thanks Serena," I said.

"No problem. I'm gonna.. um .. let you sleep now. You need rest. Good night... wait... no... see you soon"

She ran out of the room.

Oh how I wish she stayed. Oh how I wish she held my hand while I slept just like I did in Kanto. Oh how I wish she had laid next to me. What was I to do? Whatever I'll figure this out later. No matter what, I will confess my feelings to her. Maybe.

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

After a couple of minutes I heard the door creak open. Who was that?? Was misty here to hit me with a broom? Oh god, I was so scared. I could hear the footsteps coming closer and closer to me. That's when... I felt it.

The kiss on my cheek.

Not the one from yesterday.

Just now!!

Except it felt the same as yesterday.

Serena?

I obviously turned red as a tomato, because the mysterious person started to giggle. Who was this person?

Omg I needed to know.

I opened my eyes but the person was gone.

Darn it.

I rolled over onto my right side and dozed off.

What in the world was going on?
