|"I think you should wear the red one" a brown-haired girl told a blonde-haired girl who was flipping through a dress catalog in her magazine.

Prom was coming up shortly. More like in a month. Almost every girl was scrambling to find the perfect dress. Though I would rather not go, my best friend Zoey, insisted that I must go. She even had a dress and everything planned out.

No one has asked me to prom, but Zoey was always telling me that the "perfect guy" is just waiting to ask me. I didn't care about prom as much. I just never had the excitement in me like every other person did.

I just wanted to get through with school and get the hell out of here.

I had already turned in my college applications to colleges in San Francisco. It was my dream to become a surgeon. I have always wanted to become one since I was little.

Well, first it was a doctor, but I had changed my mind a little later, and decided to challenge myself when I learned more about a surgeon.

I wanted to go to countries out of the United States so I could help other people around the world. I've always wanted to make a difference in the world and just help people. So that's what I was planning to do after I graduate.

"Marley! Run!" Zoey screamed while shaking me, as I came back to reality. However, her voice began to fade and so did her appearance.|

I opened my eyes and instead of Zoey, it was Dale. He had been shaking me and trying to get me going.

"Marley, I understand that dreams are amazing and all, but now you need to face reality. Get up and let's go" Dale yelled, gripping onto my arm, and pulling me up. I stood up and looked around.

We were in the hospital that we had discovered a few months ago. We felt safe here because it was entirely vacant. I guess our luck had changed.

Dale still held onto my wrist, as he lured me into following him. I flung my back pack over my shoulder and followed.

We walked into an office, where the other guys were, packing their bags. Dale closed the door and glanced out the window.

"They're coming. Lots of them too. We have to get out of her. As soon as possible" Dale quickly explained, looking at all of us.

"How did they even find us?" Cason asked, zipping his bag and stood up. Dale ran his fingers through his hair constantly and shook his head.

"I honestly don't know, but we all knew they were going to explore this place soon" Dale replied and opened the door, peeping through the hallway.

I looked at Adam, who was already sharpening his machete with a razor-sharp knife he had found earlier. I turned and looked to the other guys.

Cason was reloading his gun with more bullets while Rider washed his face in the bathroom.

I took my canteen out and walked into the bathroom. Rider gave me a puzzled look as I waited for him to finish washing his face.

"Water" I said and he nodded, moving out of the way. I waited as the canteen filled to the top.

Water was a resource we weren't able to get most of the time. Most buildings we found, provided no source of water, so we were lucky enough the hospital did.

"Time to go" Dale called out and I squeezed the cap shut onto my canteen tightly and walked out of the bathroom. I put the canteen into my bag. I was glad I was had brought my backpack with me as soon as the zombie apocalypse happened. I had of course, thrown my school books and only kept some paper and pencils in it, just incase I got bored.
