A/n EDIT: sorry I unpublished this chapter for a little bit I was just rereading it and I noticed a lot of spelling mistakes and some sentences that didn't make sense. I just edited a couple of parts.

I'm really sad because I wanted to do 3 updates this week but I have writers block for the next chapter :( I might do a crack chapter filler since I don't know what to write...

Also. In July I actually can't post AT ALL. I'm going to a camp in northern Canada (I live in Canada) for the whole month. (I'm a camp leader there so that's why I'm gone for the whole month) And they don't allow phones and they don't have wifi there so ya
:( rip

|•_(Y/n)s POV_•|

*Warning: there is killing and blood in this chapter*

'I don't belong here
Not in this atmosphere
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye....
Started with a kick and a punch
A claw to the face,
And I was in the race
I was in the race
Yeah..
You know it's hard sometimes
Being humankind
Keeping up with the pace
Yeah...
yeah...
I'm sick of running!
Sick of running!
The human race.'

I was fixing my shoes and the throwing knifes that were around my waist as me and Brian were waiting for Tim. We were waiting for Tim at the foot of the mansion. Brian said that he stormed off and said he needed a walk and now he is late for the patrol.

I look over at Brian to see him sighing impatiently and looking around in he woods for any sign of Tim. "God where the hell are you Tim. Hurry up.." Brian grumbled out almost inaudible, but I still heard. We wanted to get back from this patrol as early as we could but now I don't think that's going to happen.

Brian said that they usually leave for patrols around 9:00pm, then come back to the mansion around 2:00am. But I don't think we're gonna come back by 2 at this rate.

I looked around the dark forest while also listening to the sound of near by crickets. The stars littered the sky and a occasional bat or owl flew above our heads. Fireflies faintly lit up the forest making it seem like were in some kind of movie.

I grabbed my blood stained dagger out of my pocket and started playing with it, twirling and flipping it. "Can I just go and scout ahead? He's probably not going to be back any time soon, and I don't just want to stand here." I said as I turned my head to look at Brian to see him now tapping his foot, impatiently. He looked over to me and sighed. "Yea, you might as well go look ahead. Just don't go out of the boundaries and don't engage." I nodded in response and turned around to face the forest then staring walking away.

With my dagger in hand and my black hood over my head, I started walking into the dark forest.

I looked for any movement, and listened for any noise as I walked carefully and quietly. I carefully walked over fallen trees and branches, trying not to make any sound as I looked and listened.
As I was walking I heard could faintly hear voices and I could faintly see a glowing light.
But most importantly I saw smoke.

I walked a little faster but still carefully in the direction of the light and voices. Once I was close enough I hid behind a nearby tree and poked my head out from behind the tree, and looked. There were a couple of teenagers, maybe 4 of them, sitting around a campfire.
There was 1 girl and 3 boys. Behind them was 2 medium sized grey tents.
They all seemed to be talking and laughing but the girl seemed tense, worried, scared and paranoid. 'Was she being stalked by slender? Or was she just paranoid of the forest?' I thought to myself. I looked closer at her to see if I could see a operator symbol on her wrist or shoulder.
There was nothing on her wrist but I couldn't see her shoulder because of the big grey sweatshirt she was wearing. So I shrugged off the thought and listened closely to the their conversation.
