While Alana gave the patients their breakfast, she felt way better after getting her problems off her chest. She was just so sick of her family acting like she a nuisance. Laurent seemed like he cared, though, and that added to her happiness. Now, she and Crystal we're sat at the nurses desk, both of them typing away at their computers.
"I saw you this morning," Crystal said, peeking over at Alana. "You looked really upset, and I just wanted to know if you were okay."
"I'm good," Alana said quietly, smiling a little. "Just some stuff going on with my family. I'll be alright."
"Again?" Crystal groaned. "Who was it?"
"My mom and sister."
Crystal rolled her eyes and she, sighed, reaching for her mouse. "I never liked her. She seemed really sketchy and every time I saw her, she'd give me this dirty look."
Alana chuckled, running a hand through her hair. "She went back to Georgia yesterday, so you don't have to worry about her."
"Good," Crystal hmphed.
Alana didn't say anything after that and she looked at the time, seeing that she would be making her rounds soon. The only thing she needed to do was take the trays from the patients and fix some lunch for them soon. She stood from her chair and she left the nurses station, heading for the first room. She took her ID and she opened it, taking the empty tray that sat by the door. She looked at the patient briefly, watching him rock back and forth. She frowned and she closed the door moving down to Samantha's room.
She opened the door and she took Samantha's tray, stacking the two trays together and smiling at her. "How you feeling, Sammy?"
"I'm okay," Samantha replied. "I liked the pancakes."
Alana chuckled softly, sighing a little.
"Thanks love," she smiled. "I'll see you later, okay?"
Samantha nodded and Alana left the room, closing the door behind her. She went to Agnes's room next, opening the door quietly. Agnes was sitting up on her bed with a smile on her face, a creepy one at that.
"Agnes?" Alana said as she took her tray, stacking it with the others.
"I've learned to cope with it," Agnes said, staring straight ahead. "They won't go away, and I'm tired of trying to make them leave. So now they're my friends."
She looked at Alana and her face fell, a frown appearing on her face. "They don't like you, Alana."
Alana eyed her carefully and she backed out of the room, closing the door quickly. A sigh left her lips and she shook off her nerves, making her way to Laurent's room. She opened his door and she stepped inside, watching as he shot up from his bed. A smile graced her face and she grabbed his tray, putting it with the others.
She sat the trays down next to the door and she walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. He hugged her back tightly, a genuine smile washing over his face.
"You okay?" He asked, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
"Yeah, I'm okay," she smiled. "Are you?"
"I've been thinking," he sighed, looking up at her as she sat in his lap. She frowned a bit, curling her lips in.
"Thinking about what?"
"How tomorrow will go. I don't know if I'm okay with letting him be around when you get me out."
"The doctor?" She asked. He nodded slowly, and she sighed.
"Laurent, I can't let you do that," she said. "I don't want you to kill him."
