Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in a while. I'm gonna try to post more since it's Summer and I'll have more time. Hopefully at least once every one or two weeks!

Current day

I awoke to the sound of light knocking on my bedroom door. I stretched and sat up.

"Come in," I mumbled.

Mrs. Clementine, a woman in her late fifties, opened the door slowly and came in. Today, she wore a floral print dress with a blue sweater, on her feet were sandals, and she had her gray hair pulled back with a clip.

"It's Sunday, Princess, why are you not dressed for your lesson?"

I don't like being a Princess. It means being spoiled, having to look nice, having to be a future leader, and not being able to live a normal life.

Most girls my age would love to be a Princess. That way they could have all the riches they wanted. I guess I'm different; I'm not all about that.

It also means not being able to go out in public by myself. My parents have warned me about all the bad people that could want to harm me.

I had spent most my life behind castle gates, last year I was finally able to convince my parents that I wanted to go to a public school. It took a lot of persuasion but I finally got my wish.

My parents still have Mrs. Clementine teach me on Sundays for church. I don't mind her though; I've known her all my life. She used to be my school teacher as well.

"Mrs. Clementine, I've discussed this with you before. Please do not call me Princess, call me Cadence." It annoyed me how all the adults continued to call me 'Princess'.

"And I've discussed this with you as well. It is disrespectful for me to address you by your first name, given your superiority."

"I don't mind."

"Well you really ought to."

I decided today was the perfect day to escape this castle and hang out with some friends. I figured I had a chance by asking Mrs. Clementine.

"Hey, uh, I was thinking maybe I could skip today's lesson." I said hopeful.

"Skip today's lesson?" She frowned in confusion.

"You see, I never see my friends that much outside of school. We wanted to meet up at the mall today, can you cover for me?"

Her lips tightened in disapproval.

"Please? I'm begging you! I haven't had much of a social life until I went to school!" I pleaded with her, hoping she would change her mind.

She pushed her glasses back up to the bridge of her nose and clutched her brief case, "fine."

"Thank you!" I ushered her out of my room and told her goodbye.

I closed my door and went to my closet. I decided on skinny jeans, a blue fuzzy blouse, and combat boots.

As for my brunette hair, I decided to straighten it. I put on my bug eye sunglasses, they cover a lot of my face and are fashionable at the same time, this way no one will recognize me.

I took my purse from my dresser and slung it over my shoulder. I walked over to my window and made sure the coast was clear.

As far as I could tell, there was no one outside. I unlocked the window and pulled it up. I climbed out and ended up on my balcony. I closed the window, and left it unlocked so I could get back in.
