~Sam's POV~

After about two hours out in the woods after I walked away from Luke last night I decided to head back to the house and go to bed. The problem was that no matter what I did, I couldn't sleep. I just tossed and turned dreading morning when I was going to have to deal with Luke. I know he meant well, but I also knew that he is full of questions and he doesn't stop asking until he gets the answers that he wants. I just hoped that he wouldn't be like that at work. At around three I was finally able to fall asleep, but it felt like as soon as I fell asleep my alarm went off and it was time to get up and go to work. I sighed and rolled out of bed slowly. I sat on the edge of my bed for a few minutes with my head in my hands wishing I had been able to sleep a little more the night before because let me tell you an hour and a half of sleep just isn't enough for this girl. I knew as soon as I stood up that I was going to be in a major bad mood today, but I had to try and be nice since Luke really didn't deserve me being bitchy towards him for no good reason. I slowly trudged towards the bathroom and turned on the shower. I stripped slowly and stepped into the shower and just stood under the stream of water for a few minutes trying to wake myself up. After standing there for about ten minutes I decided to finally wash my hair and body and get out. I walked back into my room and opened my closet door trying to decide what to wear since I really didn't know what the weather was going to be. Since this is Georgia and it is July I figured it was a safe bet that it'd be hot out today so I decided on my old ripped jean shorts and my camo tank top with my neon green bikini under neath for when I take my break and go to the lake out back. I grabbed my barn boots and ran down the stairs to grab a quick breakfast and a bottle of water. I grabbed two muffins and two bottles of water and walked out to the porch to put my boots on so that I wouldn't get mama's floors all gross. After I put on my boots I started eating my muffin and waited for Luke. Just a couple of minutes later I saw a truck coming up the long driveway and figured it would be Luke. The truck stopped and Luke jumped out and walked over to where I was sitting and sat next to me. I handed him the muffin and water and sat back.

"Thanks. This gonna be an every morning thing?" I shrugged.

"Not very talkative in the morning I see?" I shrugged again, and Luke just nodded.

"So, what do we do first?" I sighed.

"Eat." Luke chuckled.

"I can do that." I nodded. We ate our muffins and drank a little bit of water before I stood up and motioned for Luke to follow me towards the barn. Once we reached the barn I opened the doors and walked towards the hay bails.

"Gotta get the horses out and in the field, then clean these out and lay down fresh hay, fill the water buckets and clean up the tack room." Luke nodded and smiled at me while I got to work. The problem was that he was just standing there. I turned around and raised an eyebrow at him.

"You gonna get to work or smile at me like an idiot all day there Bryan?" Luke chuckled.

"Sorry, I'm just glad you're talking to me." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Why?" Luke shrugged.

"Just like to hear you talk is all. I like the sound of your voice." I rolled my eyes.

"Right. Well let's get to work. Got a lot of shit to get done today." Luke nodded and started opening the horse gates. I chuckled and shook my head. I walked over to the wall and pushed the button that opened all the gates and made a clicking noise to get the attention of all the horses and lead them to the pasture. Luke looked at me wide eyed. I shut the gate and walked back into the barn an chuckled at Luke.

"All you gotta do. They're amazing horses." Luke nodded.

"Sorry, just never seen someone do that with horses before." I chuckled.
