p r o l o g u e
“Attention please, this is your pilot speaking,” I was taking a nap when the sound on the intercom startled me. “We’re extremely sorry to tell all the passengers that due to some technical issues, we’re going to land in the nearest city,” on this, people start to complain. “We assure you guys that we are all going to be safe.”
People’s whispers started to increase which was kind of annoying. I streched a bit and drank a glass of water before reality really stuck me. Oh my god, this cannot be happening.
“I once again assure all of you that we all are going to be safe,” the intercom buzzed again after a while. “My intention is not to panic you but to alert all of you. There seems a minor problem in the airplane that is nothing close to dangerous but also we cannot go further with it. I want all of you to cooperate and calm down.”
The captain’s announcement did calm me a little bit but, there was a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I read somewhere that trust your instincts, beacause energy never lies. This random thought made me anxious.
Shhh Mia, now is not the time to remember cringy tumblr quotes. A voice in my head said.
“Please put on your seat belts, we are soon going to land.”
I put my seat belt on and held my hands tightly onto the armrests. I closed my eyes chanting in my head- ‘science says it’s not as bad as your brain think it is’.

I opened my eyes when we landed on solid ground. I finally released a breath i didn’t know i was holding and looked out of the window.
“We are extremely sorry, but today seems to be a bad day for all of us. We just communicated with the operational crew and it seems like, this planes luggage exchanged with another ones. This is a major blunder that seem to be done by the airport authorities.”
“I again apologize on the behalf of the whole airline. We are going to compensate you guys in a good hotel along with some of the refund until further notice of higher authorities. I expect all of you to cooperate with us and thank you for travelling with ABC airlines.”
College isn’t starting till two weeks so I guess I got nothing to lose. Sighing I got ready to go.
Energy never lies, huh.The nagging sound said in my head. “Shup up,” I said loudly accidentally to which an old lady looked at me funnily.
