A Shooters Love

Chapter 13

"So this is Mexico," I said as more z's pounding on the door that separated us from them, "Not really we're still at the border," Vazquez said reloading his gun. "Alright come on,"Warren said as we all pointed our guns at the door and walls, "On my signal.....FIRE!" She yelled as we all unloaded multiple rounds into them. "Come on!" Vazquez yelled as we ran out the door and began running the length of the wall. Z's came at us from every direction as we started to dodge and shoot at them, "I'm out!" I yelled dodging a z  as Warren covered me. I holstered my gun and drew my claws out slashing at the ones that got too close to us.  10k and I stopped and covered Addy and Doc as they dragged Murphy with them, "Spread out," Warren yelled as she and Vazquez darted away. "Come on," 10k said as we ran to other side of a building and leaned against the wall, 10k shot one as I sliced heads off the clean. Vazquez waved us over as we ran to them, 10k ran in behind me as the door was shut behind us.

We cautiously walked down the hallway as Addy piked a z that was hanging around in a doorway. "Clear," she called out as we got to the other side of the building  as Warren looked out the window and sighed at the number of z's that waited on the other side. "Aly," Vazquez said and handed me a cartage of bullets as I reloaded my gun and we got ready to go outside once more. Vazquez opened up the door as we all went outside and immediately the z's began to crowd us "Hold" Warren yelled as an opening between the z's parted, "Go!" She yelled as we ran between the z's, shooting along the way and reached the other wall. We all bent over trying to catch our breathe as Vazquez glanced around, "There's no way over," he called as I glanced to back from the way we had came, "No way back either," I breathed out as I readied my gun, "And here comes the goon squad," Doc said as we circled around each other. "Ammo?" Warren asked, "About half a clip," Vazquez said, "3" Addy said, "About 4, maybe 3 rolling around in my pocket," 10k said as she turned to Doc, "Don't look at me," Doc said as I fire at a few z's before I hear clicking, "None," I said as she lowered her gun, "One," she said as she looked at Murphy.

She took a hold of Murphy's arm and pulled him to stand between us and the z's. He had been acting strange since we got to the border and all these z's began coming towards us. "Murphy we need a miracle and you need to try and use your zombie voodoo," she pleaded to him as we noticed that our options were very limited, he nodded even thought his eyes were glossed over. He shakily raised his hand towards the z's and closed his eyes to focus as we all held our breath; after a few moments he stumbled to the side as Warren steadied him, "There's just too many, I can't do anything," he said as I gripped onto 10k's arm as things looked grim.

A car exploded a little ways from us as people began to propel down the wall and shot at the z's. Several more explosions started going off as this distracted the z's as we all watched in amazement. We heard a whistle next to us as we glanced over and saw the man known as Escorpian motioned us to follow him down a hole, "Warren I do believe this is the miracle you were asking for," Doc said looking towards Warren as we all kept standing there waiting to see what Warren wanted to do. "Do you want to die?" He yelled towards us as Warren seemed to be weighing our options, "Let's go," she yelled as Vazquez helped carry Murphy to the hole. Vazquez went down first and then we helped lower down Murphy, Doc went down followed by Addy, then 10k and I and finally Warren. As soon as we got away from all those z's Murphy seemed to gain back some of his strength to walk on his own, as the lights turned on and we had guns pointed at us. "In the name of La Reina de los muertos, Queen of the Zeros cartel, I strongly suggest you come quietly," he said as we all raised our hands in the air as Murphy had on a confused face, "The z weed zeros?" He asked as Escorpian nodded, "The one and only," he said.

Murphy glanced at each of us and gathered his courage and stepped in front of us, "Then I believe your looking for me, I am The Murphy," he said bravely. Warren made a move forward drawing her gun and pointing it at Murphy, "This man is with us," she said standing next to Murphy. Escorpian had a skeptical look in his eyes, "If you are the real Murphy, then you will have the scars," he said waving his gun at Murphy. Murphy glanced at Warren before undoing the buttons of his shirt and pulled it off to reveal the bite scars that littered his skin. Escorpian lowered his gun slightly, "It is true then," he said as he ordered his men to lower their weapons, "Come, I promise you will be safe," he said as he turned around and began to walk but we stayed on our guard not moving, he stopped walking when he realized that we were not following. He sighed, "Look if I had wanted you dead I would have left you with the zombies, but La Reina is looking forward to meeting you all. Now come she will give you safety," he said as Warren nodded and pocketed her gun and motioned for us to follow.
