Only Angel - Harry Styles

***

Once we had arrived back at the house, I noticed that Louis wasn't there anymore. I wanted to ask Harry why but I felt like I was overstepping as I didn't know him all that well, and I could understand why these boys kept everything as private as they did. We walked into the kitchen and were greeted by Niall, Liam and Zayn who all asked us how our 'outing' had been.

"Hey, where's Louis?" Harry asked. I smiled because it meant my question would be answered without me having to ask.

"He headed back to your flat." Niall said. I didn't know Harry had another flat? Harry nodded in response. He went to the cupboard and grabbed two bottles of water, two apples and two chocolate bars.

"Flo and I are going to watch a movie, we'll see you later." Harry said, putting all the items into one of his large hands and grabbing mine with the other, pulling me out of the kitchen and up the stairs. I waved to the boys quickly before having to spin around to follow Harry. He stopped pulling me as we climbed the stairs, but still held onto my hand.

"Thank you for being so cool about today." Harry said quietly.

"It's ok, it was weirdly fun."

"That's good, you'll have to get used to it."

"Yeah, only when I'm with you though, no one really cares apart from my friendship group."

"Everyone will take an interest in you now, trust me." Harry said, his jaw tensing and his hand squeezing mine a little tighter. I stopped on the stairs and kept looking up at him. Noticing I had stopped he turned around.

"Do you regret it, Harry?" I asked, not too sure what answer I was expecting. Harry kept looking in my eyes, as if he was looking into my soul. How does he do that? He released a breath before speaking.

"I don't think so, no. Simply because the way I feel singing on stage and being with the lads and being able to do things a normal 17 year old wouldn't be able to do. I think all of that cancels out the scary thought that people want to know all about my life and the thought that people have formed opinions on me without even getting to know me." He looked so upset, I regretted asking him so much. He looked down at our hands, still interlocked. Throughout our whole friendship we had always been the friends that acted like slightly more than friends, like by holding each other's hands and stuff like that. I liked it, it made me feel safe. He kept staring at our hands so I stepped up the two steps to meet him on the same step.

He finally broke away his gaze from our hands, and when he looked at me, his eyes looked glassy. I pulled my hand away from his and wrapped both arms around his neck in a hug. I felt his arms snake around my waist and his head rest in the crook of my neck. I rested my chin on his shoulder, his height being a slight problem. I was already up on my tiptoes but luckily his grip around my waist supported me. We stayed like this for a while, just standing in the stairs hugging. I felt him sniff and kiss the side of my neck before we unlatched from each other and pulled away. He smiled at me, his eyes still slightly glassy. The snacks were sat behind him on a higher step. When had he put those there?

"Come on, Haz. Let's go and watch a movie." He nodded, retaking my hand and leading me into his room. He pushed me gently in the direction of the bed whilst he got the movie ready.

"What are we watching then, love? I've got Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral, uhm, I'm not sure, the notebook?" He stumbled over his words. I giggled at him and he smiled up from his cabinet at me goofily.

"I'm surprised a manly-man like you has all of these romantic films." I teased him, knowing how much he had always preferred my film choice even since we were little kids.
