Dottie's POV

I woke up from my deep slumber to the sun shining through the window. I sat up and stretched me arms above my head. I was about to get up when on of the maids to the castle walked in my room.

"Miss Dottie, your awake." The maid said walking over to the closet.

I was a about to tell the maid I can pick my own clothes.

"What would you like to wear today." The maid spoke before I could, the maid was looking through my closet.

"Pick out whatever you think is nice." I said tossing my legs over the side of the bed. I couldn't touch the floor on this bed.

"Does dark blue seem okay to you, miss Dottie." The maid said taking the dark blue dress out of the closet.

"I really don't care what I wear." I spoke to the maid not caring what I said. Even though a princess is supposed to be carful for what they say, I don't want to be like all the princess, I want to be me.

"Miss Dottie you should watch what you say. What would happen if you said that in front of your parents." The maid said with some concern.

"I know. If they catch me talking like that they are going to put me into more princess lessons." I said rolling my eyes.

"Well it's almost breakfast, you should get ready." The maid said setting the dress on my bed, then walking out.

I stood up and got dressed, looked in the mirror to see if everything is okay, then walked out of my room. I was walking down to the dining room where my family and I eat.

I walked through the doors, seeing my mother and father sitting at the table. I sat down on the opposite side of my mother.

"Good morning Dottie." My mother said looking up from her paper.

"Good morning mother, good morning father." I said.

"Good morning Dottie, ready for your birthday." My father said.

'Crap I totally forgot it's my birthday.' I thought to myself.

"Yeah, but father can we go to the town I would love to see the people." I asked my father.

He looked at me, then look at my mother, who looked back at him, then he turned his gaze back at me.

"Not today Dottie maybe some other day, but your mother and I got some news for you." My father said with a smile.

"What might the be father." I said curious.

"Your getting married." My mother said.

"Hey I wanted to say that." My father said disappointed.

"I'M WHAT." I yelled, furious at the news.

"Lower your voice down Dottie." My father said.

"Your getting married, I got a letter from the dark kingdom saying the prince Ein would love to marry you." My mother said handing me the letter.

I started to read the letter.

Dear Elizabeth (Dottie Mom)
I have gotten your letter of you asking if you wanted me to marry your daughter. I would be happy to marry your daughter though I would like to meet her first. I think it would be great to meet her at your kingdom so she doesn't have to travel to my kingdom. I would like to meet her in two weeks.

From the dark prince
Ein

I finished reading the letter.

"So your making me marry a guy I don't even know." I said but keeping my voice calm.

"You'll get to know him in a few weeks." My father said.

"But father I don't want to get married besides I'm only 16." I said trying to convince my father to cancel the meeting.

"It can't be that bad, also I was only 15 when I married your father. What's wrong with getting married." My Mather said.

"Nothing, But I don't trust the prince, the sound of his kingdom does not sound trustworthy." I said feeling uncomfortable saying that kingdom name.

"I think is sounds great." My father said.

"Why do you guys trust him that quickly. Besides did you ever think how I would feel about this, what if I don't want to get married." I said raising my voice a little bit.

"Dottie if you raise you mr voice one more time you can go to your room." My father said looking at me in anger.

I always got scared when I got him mad but not today, I'm standing my ground.

"Fine, I rather be there instead of here, I'm not gonna let you force me into a marriage that I don't want to be part of." I yelled, standing up from my chair and walking towards the door.

"Dottie why can't you be like other princesses." My mother said with disappointment in her voice.

I walked out of the room, walked through the castle towards my room. I walked into my room and got out of the dress and back into my nightgown, then flopped down on my bed.

'I can't believe I have to get married to a guy I don't even know. Why does my mother even want me to be like other princesses, I want to be me. If she wants a normal princess, she can have another kid.' I though, looking up at my ceiling, I heard a knock at my door.

"Who is it." I said.

"It's me princess." I heard the maids voice.

"Come in." I said sitting up.

She opened the door and looked at me, she was holding a tray.

"I see you got out of your dress, but I brought you a tray of food." The maid said setting the tray on my nightstand next to my bed.

"Thank you." I said looking at the food for a moment, then looking at the maid.

"Also your parents want you to stay in your room for the rest of the day." The maid said turning, and walking towards the door, and walking out.

'Good I wasn't planning on leaving this room today anyways.' I thought, grabbing the tray of food, eating until I was finished.
