Izuku's POV
Umm...go...go to your house? To watch a movie? Are you sure? With me?I was panicking on the inside, but I tried my hardest not to show it and for the most part I think I fooled Kazuchi.
"Sure that would be great!" She just smiled at me and that made my heart melt. I followed her as we went down a flight of stairs and left the building. We walked for a little bit until Kazuchi stopped and turned toward a shop across the street.
"Wanna get something to eat. I know that cafe across there has some really good food, if you're interested of course." As if on cue my stomach grumbled loudly.
"Sure. I'd love something to eat!" I almost blurted out. She just giggled and crossed ahead of me.
Wow. Her laugh is so cute. I mean...ugh.
We entered the cozy little cafe and took a seat close to the window. We picked up the menus and browsed them for something that interested us. A couple minutes later a waiter came up to us.
"Hello, good afternoon. May I take your order?" She asked politely.
"Um yes. I'd like to have the 12oz philly cheese steak burger, a extra large side of fries, onion rings and a soda."
"And you Sir?"
"Oh, um, I think I'll have the the chicken and chips and an orange juice." She jotted down our orders on her notepad and left us. For a few seconds I just stared at her in disbelief.
"What? Why are you staring at me like that?" She giggled nervously and started pushing the strands of her hair behind her ear. I broke myself from my trance.
"Oh, it's nothing really. I just noted that you probably ordered half the cafe's stock in that one meal." She simply rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Well...a girl's gotta eat. And the food here is great. Wait till you try it. And they make the best cherry coconut ice cream I've ever had. I could eat it all day!" We sat and laughed for a second then continued chatting for another 10 minutes. I mostly told her about how UA was and all the details about my friends. I actually spent like half the time talking to her about Ochako. I felt like I was venting or burdening her with my problems, but she didn't see it that way.
"Oh sorry for rambling on about my life and problems to you like that. I didn't want to burden you with anything."
"Oh no. It's no problem at all. I like listening to your stories. Their really interesting. And it's good to talk to someone about your problems every once in a while. Clears you of everything you've been bottling up." At this point her left elbow was on the table and her head was propped in her hand as she stared at me intently. She was so close. I really was resisting the urge to lean in and, you know. Luckily just then our food came and decided for me. The waiter placed our plates in front of us and I watched as half of Kazuchi's body disappeared behind the mountain of food.
"There's no way you're gonna finish all of that."
"Oh, is that a challenge?" She smirked at me and leaned back in her chair.
"How about a bet. You finish it and I pay for you. Don't and you pay for me."
"Oh okay. I accept your challenge." I laughed and we just started eating. We were laughing and talking. She told me about the time she and her brother got caught trying to steal fruit from their neighbor's tree when the just found out about their quirks. Apparently they got grounded by their mom for a week but their uncle was so impressed that he got the fruit for them anyway. I told her about how Kachaan went to do his hero training the first time with Best Jeanist and how he freaked out every time the pro was even in the same building as him.
"Yeah one time we told him Best Jeanist was coming to class to give us a lesson and he jumped straight up from his seat and clung to the ceiling! I would have sworn the guy was a cat or something!" This got Kazuchi laughing so hard she spat her mouthful of food all over me.
"Oh my goodness Izuku, are you okay?" Her eyes were filled with concern but from the way her lips were moving I knew she was struggling to hold back a laugh
"Fine just laugh it up." She just broke down in tears laughing and I rolled my eyes playfully and watched her. Once she settled down she looked at me smiling.
"Come here let me clean you up a bit." She then scooted closer to me and took up a napkin. She wiped off all the food from my face and close and then disposed of it accordingly. When she came back I was just blushing.
"Sorry about that I just couldn't contain myself anymore." I simply shrugged it off and told her it was okay. Another 5 minutes passed and I'd finish my meal while Kazuchi still had probably 1/3 of her burger and some fries left.
"See...told you you couldn't finish it." She looked at her plate then at me then her plate again and groaned.
"Ugh...I hate to admit it but you're right. I'm stuffed. You win." She was about to get up from her seat to head to the cash register when I got up and stood behind her.
"No need. I'll pay it." I placed my hand on her shoulder and gently pushed her back down into her chair.
"But I lost the bet. The deal was loser pays." This time she got up from her seat and looked me in the eye.
"Yeah but I never had any intention of you paying. I crossed my fingers behind my back." I pulled out the gesture and showed her to bring across my point. I didn't really do it I just wanted to pay for her meal. I don't know why, I just did.
"Thanks Izuku. You know, you a cool kid." She smiled at me and sat back down. I went over to the cashier and paid for our meal. I looked back at the table to see Kazuchi playing with her hair, twirling it around her finger. I then remembered something. I asked the cashier to add one more item to my list and paid him. I also got a box to put the rest of her food into. I returned to our seat and hid the bag behind my back and handed the box to Kazuchi. She packed up the food and I quickly placed it in the bag I had on top of what I'd just bought.
Hope she likes it.
We left the shop and headed on our way to Kazuchi's home. About halfway there she began to feel a bit dizzy.
"You okay Kazuchi? You don't look like you're up this too much."
"Yeah...I'm fine. Just feeling a little tipsy. Probably did eat too much. Might be having a food coma." Not 4 seconds later did she begin to fall forward. I grabbed her by the waist with my right hand and she wrapped her left arm around my neck.
"Thanks Izuku. And thanks again for paying for paying for me. I really appreciate it." And at that she gave me a quick peck on my cheek. It was small and probably just a friendly gesture, but my cheeks went from freckles to Kirishima's hair red in 2.5 seconds. I was blushing like mad and felt like my face would spontaneously combust.
Pretty soon she was falling all over herself so I decided to carry her. Luckily she told me where she lived before hand and how to get there so I repositioned our things and activated my quirk. I then rocketed off toward her house. I landed on her doorstep and rummaged in her pocket for a while and pulled out her keys. I unlocked the door, went inside and laid her down on the body length couch while I placed the food in the fridge/freezer.
When I reentered the living room I watched the sleeping girl. She was just so cute and peaceful when she slept. I found a blanket and laid it over her which she quickly latched onto. I smiled and then got a stupid idea. I leaned in close and planted a quick kiss on her forehead. She smiled in her sleep and mumbled something inaudible. I chuckled to myself.
I wonder what she's dreaming about?
