"Ya know, the point of being in a library is to actually read." She murmured quietly. My head shot up immediately in record time at the sound of her voice; quickly glancing back and forth to remember where I was.
"I was just-"
"Cramming all night for finals week? Me too." She enunciated. I smiled curtly at the peculiar girl, awkwardly running my fingers through my locks of curly hair as a desperate attempt to tame them.
"Exactly." I nodded. She shrugged, opening up her AP English book as she took the seat across from me. I took the extra silence to absorb her tender features.
Her hair was blonde, but not the kind you find in a bottle. A sort of dark gold, something of natural sorts. By the way it was lazily thrown into a knot at the peak of her head, I'd be surprised if she cared enough to dye it.
Her eyes were sort of a moss green shade. On the outskirts of the orb, they were light; a Carmel shade of brown, but on the inside was a deep green, blending together with the darks of her pupils.
Her cheeks were pink, dusted over with freckles only provided by exposure to the sun. But however they came to be, they hid submerged below the thick black glasses she wore.
She wore a large tee shirt, with the words "Relay For Life Cancer Walk" printed on it. Paired with that was black track shorts, and a pair of bright red KED shoes.
She seemed so deeply engrossed with the contents of her text book. Like she had been waiting her whole day just to sit down and study.
I smiled lightly, shaking my head at the strange woman in front of me, before proceeding on with what I had come to do.
Before I had even read a single line of notes, I hear a rustling sound of a bag. My eyes quickly divert their attention back to the girl, who is elbow deep in a box of Lucky Charms cereal.
I chuckled, shaking my head at the girl. She shrugged, sheepishly smiling at me. I couldn't help but wonder what I looked like at that moment. Was my hair strained out in all sorts of different ways as it usually does? Did I dribble whilst I was sleeping?
"Oh I'm sorry did you want some?" She vocalized, completely unaware of the mouthful of cereal she was blatantly showing me. As I witnessed her complete disregard for manners, all my worries seemed completely irrelevant.
"Now that you mention it, I'm starving." I chuckled. She smiled, sliding the box over to me from across the wooden table. I took a handful, carefully placing it all on my notebook.
"What's your name, Library boy?" She questioned, as she chuckled heartily.
"Harry, Harry Styles. And you?" I replied. She just smiled.
"Arden, Arden Samantha Stone." She muttered, never losing that unforgettable smile.
"Lovely name" I expressed. She shrugged her shoulders.
"Yeah I guess. I use to hate my name, but now I like it because my initials spell out ASS." She explained. I chuckled quietly, scrunching up my eyebrows in curiosity.
"And you like that?"
"Yeah! Who wouldn't want to literally be an ASS?" She informed.
"Didn't children pick on you in school?"
"They couldn't laugh at me if I was the one making the jokes. Words only hurt as much as you want them too!" She exclaimed, closing up her book and grabbing her belongings. "Keep the cereal. Something for you to remember me by." She stated quietly as she walked out of the library.
I sighed, allowing myself to chuckle slightly at the girl. I too, began to pack my things, but before I could put the box in my bag. In small black ink on the top of the box was written:
Meet me back here @ midnight tomorrow
Be here or I'll literally look like an ass ;)
