She was Adventurous

"Harry Styles?"

I quickly turned at the sound of her voice, only to be blinded with the flash of her camera. She chuckled.

"Arden Stone?" I reciprocated. She rolled her eyes, fixing her glasses on her freckles nose. She slid into the seat across from me, glancing down at the sketch in front of me.

"What's that?" She questions, snatching it from my grasp before I could hide the contents of my drawing. "Is this-is that me?" She muttered.

"Erm- yeah. It's you." I confirmed, tussling my curls to rid myself of nervous frustration.

"When did you draw this?" She whispered, running her fingers delicately over the pencil lines. She studied the picture furiously; ensuring herself she wouldn't forget to look over a single detail.

"Last night, after I-"

"After you took me home?" She murmured, her mossy eyes not bothering to glance up at me.

"Yeah, after that." I stuttered.

"Did you think I wouldn't remember?" She chuckled out, finally making her eyes meet mine.

"You were pretty drunk."

"I may be a light weight, library boy, but I rarely forget things." She explained, her eyes darting back to the page covered in pencil shavings and erase marks.

"Noted." I acknowledged. After a few long seconds, she looked up at me; grinning in a way that said she had something planned.

"Do you wanna do something fun, Harry Styles?"

"It's 12:15 am, what exactly did you have in mind?" I questioned, snickering to hide my nervousness.

"Let's go swimming in the school fountain."

I could've sworn my jaw had hit the table. Was she absolutely mental? Had she completely lost all sense?

I searched her eyes for any sort of sign that she was just joking; that maybe she was trying to mess with me.

"You can't be serious!"

But by the time the words had left my lips, Arden was already grasping my hand and running out of the library.

She was quiet fast, I'll give her that. Even with her camera hitting against her tee shirt, she ran as fast as she could; smiling the whole way there.

Her red shoes scuffed against the pavement as she laughed out loud, looking up at the sky.

"We probably shouldn't do this, ya know." I muttered responsibly, stopping my feet, accidentally making Arden stumble to a stop. She smiled devilishly at me, scrunching her nose from underneath the glasses.

"C'mon, library boy. Don't you ever do anything you probably shouldn't?"

"No, not usually."

"Then that right there is exactly why we should do this." She said, walking toward the fountain that was now only 50 feet away.

I jogged forward, jumping to a stop in front of her. Arden giggled.

"No. We shouldn't."

"Harry Styles, look me in the eye and tell me you don't wanna do this." She said sternly, looking up at me from her short frame.

I stuttered. For once I couldn't hold my ground on something. My mind finding it nearly impossible to come up with the words I wanted to say.

C'mon Harry. All you have to say is no, then turn away.
