When Jughead woke up his whole body ached. His body felt like it weighed 1,000 pounds. But once he sat up on his blow up mattress in Archie's room, it got way worse. Every second it felt as if someone was hitting his head with a hammer. Jughead just shook it off and tried to fall back asleep. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to and stayed up the rest of the night waiting for his headache to subside.
At around 6 am Archie woke up and got ready and Jughead just tried to not to show he was in pain. He didn't like people worrying about him. Jughead thought he could just care for himself. Slowly, he got up off the bed and started getting ready. Starting with his dark plain t-shirt, jeans, jacket, shoes, and then hat. As Jughead went downstairs, Archie and his dad were at the table eating breakfast. "Morning Jughead," Archie said getting the orange juice out of the fridge. Jughead just put on a fake smile and sat down at an empty seat. "Want some breakfast?" Fred said getting a plate ready for Jughead. The last thing on Jughead's mind right now was food. All he could think about was the growing pain in his head. "Um I'm good, not very hungry right now," Jughead said as he got up and went into the restroom. He opened the cabinet and pulled out a few aspirin tablets. Hoping this would make his pain go away he took them with the water he had brought with him. "Jug! Come on we're gonna be late," Archie shouted from the kitchen. Jughead just sighed, hoping he would make it through the day.
Once they got to school Archie started to get suspicious. Jughead was always a quiet kid but never this quiet. But Archie pushed it off as he went to the locker room. Jughead entered his classroom and just flopped into his desk. He put his head down and closed his eyes. The cool table felt nice against his heated skin. As all the students sat down Jughead remained the same. But that was soon over when the teacher went up to his desk and slammed his hand on the table. "Come on Jughead! Wake up! This is no place for rest!" Jughead raised his head, trying not to cause anymore pain.
Betty always knew when one of her friends weren't feeling well, especially her boyfriend. As she entered her class she had with Jughead, she knew something wasn't right. But she just sat down in her seat and waited for the bell to ring.Once her teacher entered the room, he immediately went over to Jughead and yelled at him to wake up. When he sat up he looked terrible. His eyes were darker than usual. He looked like he had gotten no sleep.
When the bell rang after class, Betty wanted to go talk to Jughead. When she caught up with him in the hallway she never realized how awful he actually looked. "Jughead, you don't look so good what's wrong?" she asked as they walked into the student lounge and sat on one of the couches. Jughead just put his head back against the back of the sofa and closed his eyes.He didn't like Betty worrying about him so much. "I'm fine Betty it's just a minor headache, don't worry about it," he said drowsily as he began to fall asleep. She then just scooted closer him and put the back of her hand on his head. It was really warm, it frightened Betty and she knew he needed help. "Juggy, you're burning up," she said rubbing his shoulder. "Jug, I think we should get you to the nurse," Betty said trying to wake him from his short slumber. But all Jughead said was, "Stop Betty, it hurts". Betty then began to full on worry, "What hurts Juggy?" she asked him with a worried tone. "My head," he whispered trying to stop the sharp knives stabbing his head. Although Jughead didn't want her to worry, the pain was unbearable. Betty knew it would be hard to get him to the nurse with just herself but she saw Archie pass through the hallway. She ran and caught up with him, "Archie!" Betty yelled through the hallway. Archie quickly turned around to see Betty in front of him. "Jughead's sick, can you help me get him to the nurse?". Archie was so surprised, "He never said anything to me," Archie said as he followed her into the room. Jughead was literally passed out on the couch when they came in. But once they were able to wake him up, Betty grabbed one of his arms and Archie grabbed the other. Jughead's head hurt so much it was a struggle to get up. "I don't think this is just a headache," Betty said as Archie and her helped Jughead into the nurses office.
As they helped Jughead lay down on one of the beds, the nurse came in and checked on him. "Well it looks like he's going through a very bad migraine right now, he has a fever of 102 degrees. Who do I call to come pick him up?" The nurse asked as she looked at Jughead who had his handing gripping at his head. "Um my dad, Fred Andrews," Archie said. The nurse then went to her desk and made the phone call. "Thanks Arch for helping me," Betty said sitting beside Jughead. "No problem, and I'll make sure he's okay. Well I've got to head back to class, see you guys later, feel better Jug," Archie said as he headed back towards the hallway. Betty just looked down at Jughead, his eyes were now slightly open, looking at her. "Are you alright?" she smiled, watching as a faint grin appeared on his face. The nurse had given him some medicine to help his migraine a little bit. He just nodded in response, to tired to speak. "Next time just please tell me Juggy, I was really worried about you,". Betty said caressing his face. Mr. Andrews had arrived and helped Jughead into the car. Before they left Betty kissed his cheek and said to Fred, "Keep an eye on this one," and then waved goodbye and went to class. Betty walked back to her class that she missed over 20 minutes of, but it didn't matter to her. What mattered was Jughead getting better. And within in a few days he did, which made Betty relieved.
