I wake up on my own at exactly 3:59 and decide it's close enough. I shush the alarm and begin the morning petting my new sweety who is still curled up on my chest. I remove her and set her on the bed beside me. I get up and put on some pink sweatpants and a black tank top to go for a morning jog. I grab a water bottle and my headphones and head out the door. I run for about an hour before returning to my house. I head inside and shower.
After my shower, I put on the clothes I picked out last night, something to help me blend into the crowd. Black skinny jeans, light pink button up, and the dark pink high tops. I head downstairs for breakfast and almost trip over the newest member of my household several times, but she is never in the way when my foot hits the floor. I make some toast and a sunny side up egg for me with a glass of strawberry milk, and I pour her cup of food in her bowl for the day. Instead of eating her own food though, once I sit down at the island in my kitchen to eat, she hops up and watches me eat. So as I eat I talk to her some.
"You know, it'll be nice having someone else in the house. It has been a while. You see dad died when I was little and all my friends at the time left me. So that's been kinda sucky, and then mom is always gone for business. So it'll be just us in the house most of the time if that's okay with you?" I pause to scratch behind her ears, "Mom is a really successful and busy businesswoman who always has things she has to do, but that's okay. I've grown to like the house. She even hired help who comes on the weekends, sweet Ms. Peppermint. Although she is a little weird, its okay." She's purring to my scratches and is so sweetly being a cat.
I put my plate in the sink and go to the bathroom to fix my now dry hair, pulling it up into a signature pink quiff. I, unfortunately, say goodbye to the best kitten ever, and grab my bag and head to school. On the way there, my headphones move into my ears and I begin to listen to some of my favorite classical music.
In front of Aaa High School, I meet up with Fi, Cake, and MC. The four of us have been pretty close since middle school and are always hanging out. As I approach I greet them all, "Good morning! Are you all ready for our last first day of high school?"
"How in bananas are you always so junking happy in the mornings?" Fi groans pushing herself off the fence. She's is wearing her signature outfit of a blue t-shirt, darker blue shorts, knee high socks and black sneakers and to top it all of she, of course, had her white bunny eared beanie.
"Chill hunny bun, you know the prince is always like this." Cake told Fiona using my nickname affectionately. Cake was ready for gymnastics tryouts in her white and yellow leotard, with sweatpants to make the outfit school appropriate. Her hair was shaved on one side and bleached white on the long side, making her tan skin pop.
MC next to her just stared off, he was in all black. Everybody thinks he's emo, but he really just likes black, it makes his very pale skin look good with his black hair. He looks at me and subtly tells me, 'He's here today, back from his so-called tour.'
'His girl here too?' I ask knowing the Vampire King always has her trailing behind him.
'Yeah, like the puppy she is.' MC is the only one who knows about everything that has happened between me and him. Everything he did to me.
'Alright then...' I start to respond until Fiona interrupts me.
"Would you two stop, I thought we were all talking here?" Fi motions to MC and my hands that are tapping too quickly for anyone else to even try to understand.
"My apologies, I just was telling MC how much I adored the gift you all got me, which reminds me, thank you all so much, it was totally mathematical that you guys got me that." I tell them all again because it wasn't enough the other night when Fi gave me my ball of sunshine.
