A/N I just wanted to thank @Unidoggo and @trueAKParra for supporting me from the beginning and leaving comments that make me laugh. Thanks for not only pointing out errors, but doing it in a way that helped me understand why they needed to be fixed. Without further ado, here's "The Search for Answers".

A knock on my door made me look up from my book in surprise. It was about an hour after lunch and Carl said I could take the day off after yesterday's events. The others were in lessons right now.

"Come in." I called.

The door opened to reveal Carl and Bailey. Carl smiled politely, but it was obvious that something was bothering him.

"We need to talk." He said. It didn't sound mean, or rude, but for some reason I knew I wouldn't like what he had to say. There was just something in his eyes as he said it.

"Ok." I got up and followed them down to the first floor. I was only in sweat pants and a hoodie, but I doubt they cared.

They led me to the same room as before and Bailey placed the cold electrodes on my temples and chest. Then she bent back down to the drawer beneath me and pulled out a blood pressure cuff. She wrapped it around my arm. Every few seconds it would tighten, then the pressure would alleviate.

She placed something on my finger that reminded me of that thing at the doctor. She walked back to her computer as Carl pulled up a chair beside where I sat.

"Brandy, this was your third vision correct?" he asked.

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Was this one any different?"

I nodded again.

"How was it different?" his eyes had a curious glint in them.

"It had more of an affect of me. After it was over, I couldn't seem to breathe. I wanted to go there really bad. Somehow I knew the way there, too."

"Aiden said that he had to tackle you to stop you and even then you kneed him in a vulnerable place before running to the house?"

I nodded. It did happed after all.

"You say you knew where the house was? Can you elaborate?"

I shrugged and furrowed my brows. It was hard to describe. "I just knew. I don't know how to explain it."

He frowned slightly and cocked his head to the side. "Let's talk about the after affects it had on you. Noah and Sam said that during the vision you passed out and didn't have a pulse. You were, technically, dead."

I looked up in surprise. "I was dead? How is that possible?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "That's what we want to know."

I slumped back into the chair, stumped. I had no idea when I passed out I was dead. I thought I just fell asleep. To be honest it kind of scared me. What if I don't wake up the next time?

Carl glanced at Bailey and she gave him a subtle nod. Everything with my body functions were completely normal.

"We're trying to figure out how the death of this boy could affect you more than the others had. Did you know the boy?"

I shook my head. "No. The first time I ever saw him was in the vision."

"Are you sure?" He asked.

I nodded. I'm pretty sure I had never seen him before.

"Does he resemble any of your family members or friends?" He asked.

I shook my head. I had no friends- the ones I did have left me after my second vision. I can't say I particularly blame them either. I was an only child and my parents had blonde hair and blue eyes like me.

"Starting Monday we're going to be trying a different approach." He said.

He didn't elaborate and Bailey started the process of removing the equipment from my body. When she was done I left and returned to my room.

I nearly screamed as I saw Aiden standing by the door way. His hand came up to cup my mouth before I could and after a few seconds he released me.

"You nearly gave me a heart attack." I scolded him, slapping him lightly on the shoulder.

He shrugged. "We need to talk."

"Talk away." I told him. I sat on my bed and he followed me.

The bed dipped slightly as he sat beside me. "You can't tell anyone what you saw."

I looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"

He gave me an unimpressed look. "You know what I mean. The others can't know what I can do."

That's when I remembered how he got me home yesterday. He teleported. "Why?" I questioned. "It's not that big of a deal. It's not that embarrassing. It's actually really cool."

"Just don't say anything." He said.

"I can't guarantee that until you tell me why." I wouldn't have said anything to the others, but he didn't need to know that. Especially when I could get some answers out of him.

He glared at me and sighed.

"I have another pouvoir and it's not a good one."

I rose an eyebrow. I couldn't see how that was a big deal. Did no one else have two pouvoirs? And about it being bad. Mine was bad too. Welcome to the club.

"Well, what is it?" I asked curiously.

"You don't care that I have two?" He asked incredulously.

"Does no one else have two?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"Well what is yours?" I asked again.

He sighed heavily before continuing. "I can inflict pain on others with my mind."

My mouth gaped open and my eyes widened from surprise. "You're right. That does suck." I replied in a playful tone.

It was his turn to gape. "You're kidding me right? No running away screaming? No avoiding me to make sure I don't hurt you? You're making jokes?"

"Why would I be scared of you? It's not like you're going to use it on me. It isn't your fault you have it. I definitely don't want my visions. We don't get to choose."

He stared at me for a moment. He seemed to be analyzing whether or not I was lying. Eventually he blinked and shrugged. "You're different. Most people would be running around and screaming."

It was my turn to shrug. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not like most people."
