Sam seemed confused and slightly agitated. "I'm not actually sure. He said there was a man that he didn't recognize. He had black hair and a large scar running from the base of his chin to right under his left eye. Have any of you guys ever met a guy like that?"
We shook our heads.
"I'd definitely remember someone with a huge scar on their face," Noah commented. "It's not exactly very common."
"Did Fluffy get a name?" Aiden asked. Sam shook her head, a frown forming on her lips.
"What were they talking about?" My voice was eager as I asked the question everyone was dying to know.
"Fluffy didn't hear much of their conversation, but what I grasped from it was that they were discussing our progress. He seemed particularly interested in our sessions and Brandy's visions. He wanted to know everything about them; how many she's had, what they were about, and what happens during them." Sam was looking at me, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as spoke. "Do you know why he wanted to know so much about you?"
I shook my head. "I mean, my ability to see the future can be beneficial, but not overly so. I literally have minutes before what I dreamed happens. There's not a lot I can do about it." I could feel multiple gazes on me that for reasons unbeknownst to me I couldn't bring myself to meet.
"What else did he say?" Selina asked.
Sam shrugged."Fluffy wasn't in there long enough. The man left after Petunia found us in the hallway. He did, however, say that he'd be back in a week at the same time as tonight."
"So other than the fact that we know when the guy's coming back, we still have nothing." It wasn't a question, but Noah's typically happy voice was frustrated. "We don't even know who it is or why he's here."
"It's not Sam's fault we have nothing," I stated, my voice just as frustrated as Noah's. "If it weren't for her and Fluffy we would know even less than we do now."
Noah sighed, running a hand through his dirty blond hair with a groan. "I know that, I'm just confused."
"We all are." Selina's voice was tired and understanding. "I think we all just need some sleep."
I nodded in agreement, but an idea came to mind. "I think we should do something first."
After a pause Noah's added "Which is..."
"We should check out the room that Carl and the other guy were in. Maybe we can find something pointing to who he is."
"Alright, let's go," Selina announced as her and Sam hopped off the bed and to their feet.
"Shouldn't just two of us go?" Aiden's voice surprised me. I'd almost forgotten he was there.
"And why is that?" I asked.
"We were already caught down there once tonight. It would be better if just two of us went in case we did get caught, so we wouldn't all be under Carl's watch. Besides, it would be a whole lot easier to sneak around if it were just two of us and not five." His calculating eyes were taking in all of our reactions as he spoke. I noticed they rested on my face for a second longer than every ones else's.
I frowned. "You've got a point, but how do we decide who goes? I imagine we all want to."
Aiden shrugged. "I say Brandy and me go."
Selina's eyes flicked from Aiden to me before narrowing and a smirk lit up her face. "I say we let them go, too."
I sent her a questioning glance, but she just rose an eyebrow as if it was obvious.
