The next day the serpents were in the student lounge hanging out when they saw Betty. She came in, saw Reggie and the jocks and quickly left, jughead was quick to follow her this time, he watched her go into the schools newspaper room. He knocked softly before walking in. "Hey Betty" he said. "Jughead. Can i help you?" And asked. "I saw you leave the student lounge and I haven't had chance to see you since the tour". "Oh. Well you heard what they say, you don't want to be talking to me" she sighed, not looking at him. "Why? Why do you let them say all that?" He asked. "I don't want to talk to them it will make things worse" she said. He took a seat next to her on the couch. " aren't you lonely?" He asked her. She looked to him and said "I'm fine" but jughead could see right through her. "Come on" he said, grabbing her hand and pulling her up. "What?" She asked, confused. " You're going to meet my friends" he said matter of factly and dragged her from the blue and gold.

Jughead had texted fangs to meet them on a lunch table outside. "Guys, Betty cooper, Betty this is fangs, Sweetpea and Toni" Jug said. "H..hello" Betty said shyly. "Hiya" "hey betty" "Hey" the others greeted. "Here come sit with us" Toni said, smiling at Betty. "Erm... that's not a good idea, people don't like me" Betty whispered. "Don't worry about it" fangs said and jughead silently thanked them for making her feel welcome. By the end of lunch the serpents were in love with the blonde. The others left to go to class and jug and Betty stayed behind for a moment. "Why are you being so nice to me?" Betty asked when the were alone. "Because Betty cooper, I want to know everything about you" he said before smirking and walking back to class.

Betty had English, she walked in and all eyes were on her, snickering and laughter from everyone. Betty's shoulders slumped and she put her head down, walking to a seat. Toni was also in this class and waved to her from a few seats over, Betty just smiled slightly before focusing on her work. "Well, well, Well." Cheryl   Blossom said, stood over Betty. "What?" Betty said. "I saw you actually with people at lunch today, after I warn them to stay away then you'll be alone all over again, just like Polly was" she laughed before taking a seat. Toni looked over and saw as Betty wiped a tear from her cheek.

"Jeez Toni we've been waiting for ages" Jug said as Toni finally met them by her locker at the end of the day. "Sorry I got caught up" she said. "Doing what?" Fangs asked. "Betty got a particularly mean talk from riverdales resident bitch, Cheryl bombshell and I caught her crying and helped her fix her makeup in the bathroom" Toni admitted. "Is she okay?" Jug asked. "Why don't you ask her?" Toni said and pointed to the blonde walking their way. "Hey Betty!" Jug said as he waved her over. "Hey guys" she smiled. "Can I walk you home?" Jughead blurted out. "Me... you want to walk me home?" She stuttered. "Yes Betty, I would like to walk you home" Jug said, grinning at how innocent she was. "Okay, Yeah. Yes I would like that" she said, a slight blush littering her cheeks.

"Thank you for walking me home" she said as she reached her house. "No problem what are you up to tonight?" He asked. "That science homework" she sighed. "Oh, do you need help with it?" He asked. "Really? You would do that for me?" She said, looking up at him with big hopeful eyes and he nodded. "Okay sure! Do you want to come in?". "Sure, lead the way" he smiled. After finishing their homework she made them both some snacks and when she came back to the living room she found him staring at her photos. "You don't have many pictures, just you and this boy, is he your boyfriend?" Jug asked, suddenly feeling Jealous. "What no!" Betty laughed. "No, that's Kevin my best friend, who's very gay" she smiled, knowing why Jug was asking. "Oh, I haven't seen him at school" Jug said. "He's homeschooled, the kids gave him a hard time after he came out" she sighed. "How come you aren't homeschooled... I mean no offence, I'm glad you aren't or I wouldn't have met you but the kids at school pick on you all the time..." he trailed off, not knowing what to say. Betty sat down. "You should sit down too and get ready for the tragic story that is my life".
