This chapter is ever so slightly gory, so beware- so sorry if it puts you off your dinner.

We ran up the track to the prison gates fast, me frantically trying to take my pistol off its safety lock. The only reason i knew it was on safety lock was because i accidently pulled the trigger last night, it shuddering in my grasp and unfortunately facing my foot whilst i was trying to figure out how to work it. Thank goodness, my foot was not blown off.

My breath came effortlessly- another side effect of having a zombie body.

As there was no one at the gates to let us in, we quickly climbed over the high fences and jumped the remaining 2 feet.

We found our way easily to where the outbreak was- not because we could see it, but because we could hear it. Piercing screams kept coming every five seconds or so, with the sound of bullets plummeting the zombies continuously. We rounded the corner, and there it was. I could see where the zombies had broken through the fence,  it had been the part which we hadn't gotten round to double reinforcing yet. From on top of the roof tops i saw Glenn, Maggie, and Beth (Maggie's sister) shooting furiously. On the ground there was Michonne in the midst of it. With her katana, she was unstoppable. It still surprised, but terrified me at how skillful she actually was. There was also Daryl, with his crossbow. It was like another part of him, i could never imagine him without it. Rick, T-dog and Dale were also there, Rick running around solo killing off zombies with a boiling fury. T-dog and Dale were working together, moving back to back, spinning round and round  in an effort to kill off all the zombies around them. And there was Lori, screaming on the bridge for Chandler and Judith, not helping at all.

More zombies were streaming in from the gates, so it seemed that Chandler and i came in the nick of time. He went ahead confidently, bringing the zombies down quickly. Looking at my pistol cluelessly, i threw it a side underneath the bridge which connected two prison cells together and picked up Glenns baseball bat, dropped hastily from earlier when he was teaching Beth how to play baseball. I picked it up, gave myself a quick, quiet but stern pep talk and jogged off to kill some walkers.

Again and again and again i swung my bat, crushing zombies heads into a runny pulp. I hit them until i was certain they were never, ever going to come back, alive or dead.

That was when i saw it.

A zombie was crouched down, feasting on something on the ground. Then i saw the baby carrier, and i knew exactly who it was. Judith had been left by her self, unguarded, in the middle of the courtyard, as everyone had run off to their stations to help defeat these flesh eating monsters.

With a massive swing of my bat the zombies head exploded, a result to my new, unleashed anger. Judith was young, too young, with not a chance of surviving the world she had been brought into.

I heard a strangled cry, coming from my left. It was Rick. He had seen Judith. He came over to me with his gun pointing right at me. I was too frightened, but before i could i could even stammer out a explanation, he shot the zombie beside me. Five times, ruthlessly. My mouth was open in the shape of an 'o', i wasspeechless.

"Come away Luna." Rick said harshly. He turned around, and walked off without a backwards glance.

I squatted down beside the remains of Judith. Sh was dead, that much was obvious, her head a mangled mess. She was almost unrecognisable, except for her cloth blanket which had a shaky 'J' sewn into it.

and just like that it hit me. The smell of her human brains. It made my mouth dry and my throat scratchy. It unlocked something deep inside me, something unearthly that i couldn't place a finger on... or that i didnt want to put a finger on. It was hunger, unlike anything i had ever experienced as a human or as a zombie. There was a part of me which wanted to devour the rest of Judith just like the zombie beside me had, but my brain was screaming no- the words ricocheting inside my skull. I shakily rubbed her blanket between my thumb and index finger, it calming me down, soothing the hunger inside me.

Again, i heard a strangled cry just like Ricks from a far. Although this one was more like a desparate shriek. Lori had come down off the bridge, standing directly beneath it. I gasped as i pictured what she must be seeing. She thinks i killed Judith! I knelt up, for some reason holding my hand up and is if was going to protect me from her sorrow, but her mind was set. She picked up the pistol i had foolishly thrown aside earlier and with a fierce growl she directed her gun at me and shot me once, twice, in the arm and in the middle of the chest. Black blood spurted from both shots, some spilling out of my mouth which i spat all over Judith. I fell forward onto the baby carrier, my blood mixing with hers as it streamed on endlessly along a gutter, glinting brightly under the sun lit sky.
